And that is the way it often goes. I could relate many stories where even the hint of the victim being armed is enough to frighten off the would be attackers. Im not sure why people think petty criminals are intelligent beings that pre-plan their attack with great skill and forethought. They dont. Most are acting on impulse and are as scared as the victim. Then of course theres always the smack heads and true psychos, but if one of those attacks you you may as well go down fighting because they wont take your wallet and watch and bid you a good night on your way.
