DC Utd v Kansas.
Wife flicking through the channels found it and only saw the last 10 mins.
Would have watched it all but because there wasn't any publicity or interest here I never knew about it.
American's participation in the beautiful game is still a token gesture and I doubt if it will ever improve.
Unfortunately because of their success in the World Cup and Olympics many septics now think it's a girls game.
So I doubt if you would find any coverage anywhere of the international match.
Actually - I take it back. Probably on ESPN because they show any old shit. (Saw women's 10 pin bowling on there once.)

Yes. Frickin' DC United won the MLS Cup. Cheatin' bastards. That was a pretty good game though.
Yeah, the USA v Jamaica game is at the Crew stadium here in Columbus and my sister in law has tickets so it should be good. Couple of premiership players in there...
I think it is on ESPN.

Was the most over-rated player in the history of football playing for DC?

2056: GOAL Spain 1-0 England
England fall behind as Asier Del Horno nods his first international goal from 12 yards out after Liverpool's Xabi Alonso tries to flick on a left-wing corner.

Another disappointing result for Scotland in the first match in the post-Berti Vogts era.
2238: RESULT Spain 1-0 England
It's all over in the Bernabeu as England end their 2004 programme in disappointing fashion - failing to register a shot on-target in the entire 90 minutes.
Half time summary from Soccernet:
Things were not going well for England at half-time in Spain anyway but the foibles of star man Wayne Rooney made an ill-tempered half seem even worse. Bilbao's Asier Del Horno had headed Spain in front on ten minutes and Paul Robinson had saved a Raul penalty before Rooney was booked for a silly push on keeper Iker Casillas, nearly dismissed for a foul on Carlos Marchena and subsequently subbed by Sven Goran Eriksson.
Only good thing was Paul Robinson's penalty save.
Finally we have found a new England number 1.

Reading the England-Spain report, the Spanish fans were doing a fair bit of racist chanting at a few of the England players. That sort of thing is so 1980s, thought everyone had moved on?
