You should be reported to Children's Services, you witch.

To clarify my last post my step kids whined to their crazy mother about the food we feed them, the consequences we give them, making them take a shower, and doing chores. The Crazy one filed for full custody based on this ( true, I saw the complaint), CPS was called out to both homes, and the children where sent to a counselor. Basically her allegations were laughed out of court (after 2 years and a lot of money) even though they were all correct, we do do all of the above it is IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE KIDS! Not only did she lose the case, she lost decision making rights on medical.

I figured it was something like that. Some people have their priorities and idea of what's the best for their kids all out of whack. I have met many "enablers" being a teacher. Guess how many of those kids become successful citizens and contribute positively to society?

Being a teacher you may have come across this before. I have posted about my step son in the past, ....my DH went to a parent/teacher conference for him. Son told dad before hand there would be no surpirzes (in that he turned things around and has been doing the work, he'd studied all weekend for a science test)....oh how surprized my husband was....the test the boy had studied for, he had already taken the week before. The teachers all have white boards in the classrooms where they write up the current assignments for the kids to copy down. Son is not writing it down. Crazy mother suggested she buy him a camera phone so all he has to do is take a pic of the assignment......

thoughts?

I've heard a few kids joke about that but this is how it would play out for me:
(plus, we post all HW, assignments and grades on our school's website.)

Phone would be confiscated and sent to the principal. 1st offense = 2 hour detention but phone returned at end of day. 2nd offense = another detention plus mom/dad comes in for a meeting in order to get phone back. 3rd offense = more mon/dad but in school suspension.

Instead of demanding an answer to your question, you should already be glad that somebody is acknowledging your presence.

I doubt there's been any change in policy on that, or if there has it hasn't been publicised.

Thankyou for your reply .
A lot of problems with food is that the appearance can be deceptive .
Very tight regulation in Europe has improved the meat situation . The UK had to get its act together after the last outbreak of foot and mouth in 2001 and it could be up to best standards .
What I do remember from our vacation in new port richey FL. in 1999 was beef steak purchased from KKK stated on the label that it had steroids injected into it . The meat looked fine , cooked easily & tasted alright . After that we never bought any more steak in America being uneasy about the pumping up process .
Is ( or was ) that honest labelling by KKK or was it law in America then?
Anyway it up to the consumer , their choice .
I still stick by my earlier statement , Americans stop shovelling so much crap down your necks .

Yeah, you're right, the geneticic engineering and processing of food products is not as regulated as it is in Europe and the UK, and having come from there it actually scares the hell out of me in what we may be consuming over here.
We buy mostly organic fruit, vegetables, milk and eggs(cage free eggs too), and the meat we buy all comes from a source that is certified to be naturally and organically fed on grain and grass with no antibiotics or growth hormones injected. The meat has a much better flavour because of it too.
Obviously we pay more for the stuff we buy, but to me it's worth the extra cost to not be eating unknown junk. Unfortunately I suspect this is as good as we'll actually be able to achieve while we live here in the US. Basically, it seems here that everything is about feeding the masses for as little as possible.
Who knows what kind of altered and processed crap we eat if we eat out somewhere, TBH I'd almost rather not think about that.
