Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Ok I'm sorry for asking so many questions and showing no patience it's just I've never been in this situation before and didn't realise it would take that long. Yes I may have panicked and asked "stupid" questions but I'm not moaning about anything I've just asked if there was anything we could do to move it along or something like that. Apologies for replying on a forum

Hi Gman5
Do not take it to heart, Ian is a loveable guy really. This thread is really long and sometimes the same question gets asked over and over again , and certain people reply with the same answer over and over again and can get frustrated . A lot of advice and knowledge ,not to mention chinese proverbs, come from Ian and a few others but perhaps the way he puts it is not to everyone's liking, but hey we are all different in our approach to people, we can't all be like Father Christmas. But back on topic remember DHS rules. D....don't book anything until you have your passport with visa in it in your hand. H.....have patience it will come. S.......stop trying to contact us WAIT. Keep in contact Gman5 , the forum needs you. (If only to pull Ian's strings) oops sorry Ian I am a fan really. |

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Hi folks, further update to my post number #1802 June 26th which was MY timeline experience and not anybody else's......got to make that clear.
Finally arrived in Boston USA Saturday August 1st woop de doo When I arrived at the boarding desk in Amsterdam to board my connecting flight to US I was directed to one side to another desk where they checked my visa details and asked a couple of questions then onto the plane with the other passengers, so expect that slight anomaly. Then arriving in Boston at border control the guy at the desk asked advice from another guy who said " He needs to go down to secondary for a check to see if he has done anything since he applied for his visa" So off we go to the secondary interview room where after about 10 minutes and the usual questions i.e. purpose of visit, how long, where staying, etc a " Enjoy your visit" and through the exit door onto the airport concourse and I had arrived in the USA . I will get back in late September and start the whole process again to get a visa that continues when this one finishes next June Hope this has been useful I |
Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Hope you enjoy your holiday ! Think the fact once your passport has the visa with the annotation in it, you are basically targeted by customs & border security which is understandable I guess, just worries me all the other dishonest people getting thru without any issues oh well at least we can be commended on our honesty no matter how frustrating this process is, does anyone have any other good news to share, also I was just looking at my last visa does anyone know why it has ESTA reviewed typed on it? But My first visa didn't ?

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
27 weeks since interview tomorrow, however it took the consulate a week before submitting the waiver application to the ARO so to be fair I recon I need to cut one week off form my count. 26 week down, hopping to hear back any day now, let you'll know as soon as I hear back.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Quick update from us, 39 weeks and still nothing.
As we were due to travel the week after next, we have now decided to holiday elsewhere. We can only change the date for our US bound flights so have done so to Christmas. Of course there is every chance that my Husband will not have heard anything by then, but this is our own fault for booking flights in the first place. Moral of the story; do not book anything until the visa is in your hands (as advised by many on this forum). Apart from the financial loss and change to our plans, I am most regretful about the time and energy we have invested in something we have absolutely no control over! |
Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Hoping some of you hear soon, fingers crossed. We're at week 20 this week.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Hi! Does anyone know if they've caught up with the printing at the London embassy yet? Has anyone recently had the email to send passport in and what the turnaround time was? Many thanks

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
OK..... so....
Thank you to all the people posting. Some of you need to stop worrying about something you can not change and others need to be phoning the people you booked your flights with to either cancel or change the dates because you are gambling that money on an assumption you have created yourself.... It's an interesting sort of self inflicted punishment some of you are putting ourselves through. My update....I got my passport back! I got the email to send my passport off for visa issuance (1 day less than 24 weeks but this was something like 6 or 7 weeks ago now)...sent my passport off....then the global system crash...we heard nothing back...so we emailed on their contact form and with just 1 day to spare before we were due to fly I got notification from the DX courier group that my passport was being sent to me. Knowing the visa issuance takes from two days to a week or slightly more we felt safe in booking flights etc, but sod's law that their systems would crash lol. We flew to the Maldives for a pre-honeymoon, then onto Iceland for our ceremony and honeymoon. Brilliant time had by us and our families, we are as much in love as we can be from four thousand miles away lol...and now....to send my passport off again to get the visa put in...and then we begin the CR-1 process.... |

I e-mailed the consulate for a confirmation receipt and asked for a case number as I wanted some kind of proof that the application had been put through and the consular officer actually did what she said she would, unfortunately they couldn't provide me with any of them but told me the application had been put through on Feb 2nd and as my interview was on Jan 26th it would appear it took them a week to put my application in. At least i have that confirmation in writting.
Stay positive and patient everyone! |

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
My interview was on 11th February together with my hubby we were told we had been granted 10 year visa's. The next day I got an email saying mine had been refused but I was recommended for visa waiver of ineligibility. Luckily we had no flights booked and have been waiting since, we own a property in USA and employ staff, my "waiting time" should be over next week, however, not holding my breath. Looks like I will need to apply for my next one quickly. (assuming I get one this time).

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
6 months today since my interview but guess I don't hold the record yet for the longest wait! Should I feel positive or negative lol

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Always positive thinking! Lol

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Hi all I am a long term stalker first time poster but I do have a question. My husband has had 3 prior waivers two one years and one two years. Today is 27 weeks since his appointment and he has received an email asking for another copy of his criminal record. Has this happened to anyone else? If so how long did it then take for the visa to be approved? Please tell me we are not back to the bottom of the pile? Look forward to your help. Thanks
|
Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Oh wow that sounds strange I thought they just scanned all your docs and emailed to DHS, but now Iam really starting to think something has gone terribly wrong when their system crashed in June as the waiting times are really strarting to become longer than usual! Are you in Australia?
|
Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
I agree nothing has changed in 20 years with his record three approvals with. O issues and this. We booked a trip for sept because we didn't think there would be an issue as there never has been. Looks like I am taking the kids on a family holiday with out him at this rate. Yes his appointment was in Sydney on the 29th January . I hope that all they have to do now is rubber stamp the approval. Where are you?
|
Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
That does sound odd, however they kept the originals of mine. The only thing is what happens once the 6 months is up, your police certificate is only valid for 6 months (according to the Consulate). So if they are taking longer than 6 months to get to your documents the certificate is out of date.
|
Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
He was told at the interview that the age didn't matter because they can check online the record which they did in front of him and said there was no changes which the consulate guy confirmed.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Hi guys.
Just an update. I got my email today to ask to submit my Passport to the Embassy in London to get my visa - woohoo! I'm going on holiday (not to the States) on 16th October. I assume that's enough time but has anybody recently submitted a passport that can give me a rough indication of time frame to get it back? Thanks in advance. |
Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Iam in Sydney my interview was 5 feb for my 3rd waiver so a week behind you if they go on date order! I know on my second application interview I did not take a current police certificate and they would not process or send my waiver to DHS without it so I had to obtain a current one and scan it to them even with that delay I still only waited 1 month what was the email address you received the email from? I would be calling the consulate even tho everyone on this page advises you not to as this does not sound like a usual practice but maybe Ian can advise further
