Get a grip people, this is AUSTRALIA not the UK, accept that it's different and get on with enjoying this marvellous place and its people.

TP

(edited to say: this is not aimed at the OP, its just things that bug me the most)
Thank you for your list. But its not as good as mine. And yours is not funny. Mine was. And the rule for driving round a roundabout is not "first on" just in case you were wondering.

Oh and thanks for pointing out that this is Australia - I really hadnt noticed.

I thought the same. It's not a word I would use in polite conversation in the UK either It's probably us old fogies who think that... language moves on... I hope that's the case anyway, otherwise Pony is scandalising half of Australia

Gash
Ming
Pants
Meff
Pov
Chav

.........modern definitions on a postcard please.

Yes I guess it does move on - but its also coming full circle.........I am reclaiming "Lunatic", "Asylum" and "Sanitorium" for use only in a positive and serene sense to promote their true meaning instead of the stigmatised view that previous generations have given them.

I so agree with all the things that drive you mad about Australia, we certainly could do with Esther Rantzen to get over here and fight for consumer rights!!! I would like to add Optus and Samsung to your list!

I too adore Australia and am extremely happy here, but you are correct it could just do with some small modifications to make it paradise!

The driving part is absolutely true!!!!!
No one driving will let you in, no one, you could be there trying to get onto a main road, and no one, sorry I meant NO ONE will let you onto the road, even if traffic up ahead is coming to a stop(lights etc) they still keep bloody driving, and then its all backed up, and you still can't get in!!!!!!

On a lighter note I do like seeing the different variety of cars they got.

Nah give me a Mustang any day of the week, they do have some interesting cars though, some even have swimming pools in the back...well they looked like swimming pools to me.

p.s: rule of thumb, never drive anywhere unless you have at least 55 aerials attached to your vehicle(unless undercover of darkness in disguise, then your allowed 50)
