The things that bug me most............

Good to hear!!
Do you reckon it's too far out to commute in to Sydney every day? My current commute in London is just over an hour so ideally I'd like this or less once we move! It's so hard to pick somewhere to live but we're hoping to see lots of places when we go on our validation trip in a few weeks. Woohoo!!!

haha, no doubt!!
I have been looking at places like Coogee, Sutherland etc for commuting, I'm thinking maybe Thirroul, Stanwell Pak etc are going to be too far to travel in every day. No idea where in Sydney we'll be working, where I want to work is in the Rocks.

half pint =
- midi in nsw
- pot in qld
Schooner (mostly NSW) is roughly half way between a half and a pint. Full pints now sold all over the place.

Pony I totally agree with you on the schooner front, the bottle shops closing early and tthe tea!
Tetley is gash, "blend 43" is also gash, schooners are gash!
Can't wait for my first pint of "warm" flat real ale when I get back in 3wks

A mate of mine lives in Stanwell Park, it's beautiful, and he commutes into the city every day as does his wife. It's a fair old trek as I have done it a few times when we stayed. I wouldn't waste your time with the train from there as it's a joke. Driving is doable. He says it's worth it as it's such a nice place to live.

here's my list
Get a grip people, this is AUSTRALIA not the UK, accept that it's different and get on with enjoying this marvellous place and its people.
TP
(edited to say: this is not aimed at the OP, its just things that bug me the most)
- People who move to Australia and expect it to be the UK
- People who whinge that things are more expensive than the UK
- People who whinge that things are slower than the UK
- People who whinge they pay more tax than they did in the UK
- People who whinge about the police being stricter than in the UK
- People who think they are better than Australians, particularly at driving (there are equally as many poor drivers in the UK too you know!)
