It is a pleasant town, and the beach & waterfront are great. It has quite a mild climate in the winter, being on the lake - we sometimes spend time there in January or February. (Milder than our corner of northern New York.)
I used to spend weekends by the lake with my girl friend. The only spoiler was the empty Molson and LaBatte beer cans left on the beach by the French-Canadian visitors |

I'd recommend getting your citizenship as soon as you become eligible for it, but I heard of a local man (a doctor) who was returning here from Iran, with a US Passport, who was detained at O'Hare.
Obviously US citizens have a right to enter the USA but doesn't mean you will just be waved through. |

But doesn't your passport show your country/place of birth?;)
Obviously US citizens have a right to enter the USA but doesn't mean you will just be waved through. The fact that the source of the 9/11 attackers, Saudi Arabia, wasn't on this list exposes it for the bullshit propaganda, posturing and excuse for profiling that it is. |

It shows your place of birth but that becomes irrelevant when you are granted citizenship. If there were any issues, they should have been dealt with before it was granted, not afterwards.

Re: yep it's already started!
Just when I was planing on getting citizenship, I dont want it, dont want to be a citizen under this administration. Pragmatism might win out but not in the emotional mind frame right now to consider it.

Out of interest, how did they know? Presumably s/he used their US passport to enter the US - were they questioned about citizenship status, or was it because they used the NZ passport at the other end? |
