Have a look for VERA, WHITECHAPEL and SILENT WITNESS.

There have been quite a few mini series that have been quite good. It really is worth reading back through this read. There was an old thread called UK Nova...it had loads of recommendations in it. Sorry I tried to find it but the search function sometimes doesn't work properly with the ipad's software and I couldn't find it.

Oh yeh, Vera - love her. She's always screaming at poor Joe.

Second Whitechapel & Silent Witness.

Ripper Street is on BBC America.

There's also Luther and Above Suspicion.

Lightfields.

It's a new 5 part ITV supernatural drama as a follow up but separate story to Marchlands apparently.

Sounds interesting, following 3 different era's of the same location.

The Syndicate will be back on UK TV at the end of the month.

The first one was interesting, if not a little confusing at the beginning.

Mary and Martha

Drama with Brenda Blethyn, Hilary Swank and James Woods.

Written by Richard Curtis, so chances are it'll be pretty good. About a couple of mothers who are brought together by some tragedy.

Sounds like some good dramas about to start.

Mayday, 5 parter, over 5 days, follows the investigation into a missing kid in Sussex.

Broadchurch is the investigation of a kids murder in Dorset as a 8 parter, with David Tennant.

The Crash, sounds interesting too, following a group of friends dealing with a death from a fatal car crash. This is aimed at a group of teens though.

I was thinking over the weekend that UK TV was a little slow...there's been a lack of mini series for several months now.

Just noticed Mayday...sounds good and I do prefer series when they show an episode night after night. I am too impatient to wait for episodes over several weeks.

Of course there was a US film call Crash several years ago...and UK TV aired a mini series with a very similar theme...can't remember the name if it. . I hope the new series is as good as both of the above.

I think that was called crash too. This I think is aimed to be a bit harder hitting at the younger crowd, either way, hope it's good too.

Saw this and it was rather good, but very depressing.

Some cracking scenery in this.

Basically one mum takes her kid to Mozambique for a 6 months break, but doesn't bother with malaria drugs as doesn't think it that important and kid dies.

The other is a 24 year old son going out there to teach who thinks because he's young and strong that it won't kill him so he gives his drugs to the young kids at the school.

The parents then go on a bit of a crusade to raise awareness about malaria afterwards.

I'll give it a try...but I don't like Hilary Swank.

Do you know when The Crash starts? I can't find any details about it...just a 2009 medical series on UK TV.

It's worth a punt. Took me a while to realise it was Swank when I saw the snippet about it before hand. It does get a little preachy at the end of things though, but rather a good drama all the same, it's 1.5 hrs.

Crash starts on Wednesday I think.

Broadchurch is out now.

Just watched the 1st episode of Broadchurch. Quite riveting, we thought. The Dorset beaches and surrounding areas brought back many happy memories .....
