I think that's probably sensible tbh. The Song of Fire and Ice books were pretty "specialist" and won't have had wide readership pre tv series. Just because a plot point was first published 13 years ago, it doesn't mean its widely known. It's not Shakespeare or Dickens or Austen, you can't expect the general public to know the stories already. So it makes sense to separate out discussions for people who know the books to be able to discuss (for example) the changes that have been made to Arya's story in the tv version and the implications for her story as told in the books, so they don't spoil the story for those who want to have it unfold for them on screen.

I personally hate spoilers, you can watch a film or show again and again but can only have that delicious shock once, so why ruin it for others?

My point is that if a story has been out for public consumption for almost 13 years, it's a bit ridiculous for people to feel hyper-sensitive about plot "spoilers". At the very least, if you haven't read the books and don't want to know what happens, stay the hell away from GoT-specific threads and sites. Again, not directed at this site at all, I'm just frustrated with some other sites out there. The Onion has gone to doing entirely separate reviews and discussions targetted at readers and non-readers. That's nuts.

Fair enough to stay away from the specialist sites. I get a bit frustrated with people getting upset about spoilers for historical dramatizations. I got criticized on one board for talking about the movie "Nord Wand", the film was a dramatization of the tragedy of the 1936 Eiger North Face attempt, I assumed what with it being real history there was no problem in me talking without spoiler tags. Someone had a go, it felt a bit like someone complaining about being told that Hitler loses in a WW2 film.

Is the original any good? Something I've never got around to watching.

Yes, started out well, though that last series was a little weak, but worth a punt :)

The Killing Not sure what to make of it. I like the main characters Holder and Sarah and persevered with season 1 but I'm confused where this season picked up. Feel as if I missed something and the trailer before the show from last season didnt really answer any of my questions
Where did this Malkovitch impersonator in the prison come from and who is the cop he telephones ??
Gruesome topic as well dont think my BH will watch anymore
