Thanks to our Roku box Xmas gift, talented DH hooked up the Smithsonian channel and Acorn TV. He demoed it at 600 am but I was a bit too sleepy to appreciate his accomplishment. ;)

Agree with Sally about the improbably high murder rate though. I was a student at Oxford for 8 years and nobody I knew was ever murdered . Although quite recently an old tutor of mine died after falling down a staircase in her college and The Sun reported it as a 'Morse-style mystery' :sneaky:.

I know, there was a thing in the papers about it before this series started, about how the character in real life would be retired and the excessive murder rate.

And if there is, it never involved cunning cover ups with students and tutors, but some dodgy drug dealer getting slashed in Blackbird Leyes or in years gone by, down the Cowley Road or Jericho :D

I always say the same for Midsummer Murders, old Barnaby never arrests the murderer until they have knocked off at least 4 victims...very poor investigative work in my opinion:thumbdown::D

Monday Mornings.

New doctors show, has Rhymes, Molina and a bunch of other recognisable folks.

Anyway, the twist to this over being a regular meh hospital drama is that it seems to focus on when things go wrong and the hospital review process.

It still seems a bit bland and nothing special, but still, giving it a punt for a while yet.

Haven't seen that yet but I've recorded it.

Couldn't make it through the 2nd episode of The Americans. It is soooo bad...but hubby seems to like it.

Oh well, I guess he is retired now. I just watched last night's episode and it seems it was the last one.

EDIT: Spoiler Alert:
Spoiler:
They find out who the murderer is.

John Nettles always looked so damn pleased with himself, in real life questions would have been asked in Parliament about his appalling statistics

Yeah, I liked it too. Didn't think it was overly special, but not watching much in the way of medical things right now and it was good enough.

Got the second episode all set.

That was pretty good....the big cheese is a little obnoxious though, but liking how it's shaping up with everyone else.

You're also right about The Americans. Tad dull and the characters are just so unlikable, but still going to let it play out for a few episodes.

Zero Hour

It's a slightly duller Indiana Jones style adventure, hunt for the missing person and terrorist.

It's got Nazis, dead people, religion and some geeky people....the main person it the bald chap from ER.

Re: Tele

Do No Harm...only 2 episodes aired before it was axed. No surprise there.

Last weeks Nova was very good. Lots of animations of air and water currents around the earth and how they affect the climate and weather.
