So anyone else think Supernatural and Glee have gotten a bit long in the tooth and should have ended a while ago?

Seems so many shows are just getting stale and still hanging on.

Still watching Harry's Law though, even though it's shit this series, it's basically just Boston Legal, in a new city now.

Blue Bloods, still watch it, but it's just soooo pretentious and annoying.

If I remember correctly, Supernatural was built around a 4 season story arc and that's all the producers expected to get. I agree that it's run its course. Never watched Glee so can't comment on that one.

The only one of those programs I have seen is Blue Bloods. Only watched a couple of episodes even though I've recorded them all. All that family dinner around the table stuff is pretty stomach churning IMO.

No. I get a few shows from "BBC America" on Demand. They are usually shit and 5 years old. But every now and then you get something good like Luther.

Yes, sorry I meant BBC America On Demand, and yes it`s good when they show something recent. I liked Luther as well, great character!
Cant believe how they threw the nightly news out the window. I`ve never forgiven them for that.

I can't remember how good PBS was in Maine, though they got HD before we did in MA...but the NH and the RI PBS channels that we get here are fantastic...MA is a bit shite.

Still, they're fairly current on Brit shows, Downton Abbey, Luther etc, etc.

GA PBS is the absolute worst of my 40 years experience of PBS in 6 states.

I gather you didn't like Boston Legal? The biggest reason we like Harry's Law is because it's beginning to take on topical subjects and dilemmas in today's society, highlighting them as did Boston Legal. We miss Boston Legal, partly for it's addressing some sensitive subjects and partly for the campy characters. I'll never be afraid of "mad cow disease" again, after seeing William Shatner use it as his excuse for everything.

You're right about Supernatural and Glee - seems like when the producers find a successful series, they milk it for more than it's worth! Got tired of Blue Bloods a long time ago, even though I LOVE Tom Selleck and have, for a long time, in almost anything he did.

Yeah, what's the big deal with getting rid of so many BBC programs? We used to get Nightly News regularly, were able to get BBC Radio on Sirius; we now understand BBC refused to sign a contract for the satellite broadcasts and Nightly News is reduced to 1/2 hour on our local NPR station, WKNO. I can't decide if American broadcasters and producers are just jealous of the BBC or if they're trying to isolate us from the rest of the world! Probably a little of both (although I lean toward the isolation factor since "they" deprived us of NWI!)

Oh, we liked Boston Legal.

It just got all a bit samey though, with just a different issue at hand and rather stale.

What I liked about Harry's Law, to begin with, it was just fun and random, quirky but not serious. Now, well they might as well have just kept Boston Legal, it's half the same characters anyway.

I get BBC World News, for which I have to pay extra. The nightly news, presented by Matt Frei and Katty Kay was one of the only good things on BBC America and then they canned it, around the same time they decided to put on 24 hour Top Gear. Matt Frei, obviously peed off went to Channel 4 to be their Washington correspondent. I dont blame him, but it was such a shame to lose that particular news because he got to interview people in a very BBC kind of way.
American friends say they watch the BBC World News to find out whats happening outside their own country. That cheers me up!
