We're enjoying that too, must say we have loved all the UK dramas lately, Luther, Whitechapel, but my favorite by a mile was Case Histories thought it was so well done and Isaacs was fantastic, I'm missing not watching it and there were only 3 of them.

Hope Kate Atkinson sells the rights on so they can do lots more TV and we don't have to wait for everytime she writes a book.

I'm not sure what the winning recipe is for good drama in the UK that doesn't work in the US. Everything is so nicely paced, somebody doesn't always have to be speaking, and you can work the story out as it goes along rather than having to wait until the last 5 minutes to find out what the hell is happening.

I think because some times, things don't always work out, the storyline can be left ambiguous or not ending happily. Some of it is also a little realism, the cops smoking like chimneys and the like...also less product placement and people don't seem so blatantly like they are advertising the car they are driving.

Though that last point is likely to change now that shows can do product placements

The one I still don't get is shooting Leverage in Portland, OR and pretending it's Boston, MA. Why not just set it in Portland? Grimm manages with it.

That's series 2. It came out sometime beginning of last year....it's a good cheesy one

There's another series that was announced a short while back, not sure when it's out, but I think early next year.

Because you don't have the number of Irish pikies they can slip into the show out that way and have it make sense? They did have the odd scene that was in Boston, one episode where they were drinking at a coffee shop under the Citgo sign besides Fenway, it was a Barnes and Noble Starbucks, just rebranded, part of the college.

But it is daft as most of it is pretty obviously not Boston. At least when Fringe did it, there were some parts that were at least of Boston, if not of the state.
