I think the 787s were designed that way. They certainly flex more than the 777, and it had quite a noticeable flex on takeoff.

That'll be a hit with the Gemini Jets collectors, including me :)

Can't say I have heard this happen before. Man gets stabbed with pen by passenger next to him, apparently he fell asleep and his arm touched her.

Flight grounded after passenger stabs man with pen for accidentally touching her in his sleep - National | Globalnews.ca

The lady was placed on another flight. The passenger who was attacked chose not to press charges.

No injuries beyond some bruising.

Make sure you don't fall asleep on a plane.

12 (Yes, 12) bags came out on the carrousel for baggage pickup.

Someone must have told people I was on it.

(It was lovely).

That is a beautiful sight. I was once on a 767 that was reasonably empty, but not anywhere near like that.

Though, watching some business type people in their suits arrive in Chicago in January with no heavy winter coats to wear did make me laugh more than I laughed to myself when I realised the seat next to me would be empty for eight glorious people-free hours.

Nice one - that used to be a regular sight a few years back, or maybe not quite that drastic, but at least getting a row to yourself so you could stretch out and lie down. Now I can't remember the last time I was on a flight that wasn't full to the gunwhales:(

I went on a practically empty BA flight like that in around 2007 when they were having cabin crew strikes. I slept almost the entire flight across the four middle seats. Without a doubt the most comfortable trip I've taken to date.

Wow! Wish my flight was like that. The flight back to SFO yesterday was bursting at the seams!

I used to regularly manage that on the KLM flight from Sing - Am'dam in the mid 90's. Good job you could sleep, cos there was not a lot else to do - those were the days when they were about the only major airline without seatback entertainment, and consequently they were also cheap. My colleagues at the time thought i was mad, but it was by far the most restful way to get there on my own dollar.

And lets face it, it was always fun when the announcement came over asking you to stay in your assigned seat until the seatbelt light had been turned off - that was the "on your marks" call as everyone eyed up their move, then the light going off was "go".........

I'm just waiting for the usual suspects to come along and tell me that planes don't have gunwhales:lol:

A couple of months ago I went to the Philippines on Delta. I chose to fly LAX-SEA-NRT-MNL rather than LAX-NRT-MNL as the SEA-NRT segment was showing as nowhere near fully booked, compared to the LAX-NRT option. At the gate I was using the Delta app and saw there were lots of triples and even a few quadruples empty. I asked for one in particular, she said you're supposed to pay extra for that one; I pointed out people were already boarding, and she gave it me for free. I get to my seat to find somebody sitting in it, with his girlfriend on the other end of the four centre seats. I showed him my seat assignment, he gave me a foul look, and they went to find some other seats. Four seats to myself for 10 hours, thank you very much!
