Shouldn't the preference be for a 777 first, with the 757 as second choice?

The 757, because it was designed in common with the 67, has the same power (and engines) as the much heavier 767 and as a result is commonly known as a rocket on takeoff. I would rather fly in the sports car than the luxury liner.

The 777 is pretty, and advanced, but no it's the 57 for me.

I like all 3. I've only flown on a 757 and a 777 though, not likely I'll ever fly on a 747 now :(

I've flown on all three, but it was the 767-400 of Delta that gave me the most pleasure. I've never flown on an Airbus however, if it ain't Boeing I'm not going!

Fair comment, although many would be put off by the fact the 757 is just as (un)comfortable as the average sports car.

Agree with that - spent an uncomfortable flight in Economy from BRS-EWR back in 2010, and an even more uncomfortable return trip!

In my dream, I'm in one of the front seats :p

The 777 has the lead for me as far as comfort. Air Canada, though, wins for service but that's another story.

I've flown on an A320 and A321. Pretty comparable to a 737 really, not too bad. I haven't flown on their widebodies, but my mum says the A330 is OK for her jaunts across the pond. She knows bugger all about planes though.

The 777 is the most comfortable plane I've flown on, quiet and spacious. Given a choice between a flight on a 777 and any other aircraft I'd take the 777.

Airbus aircraft are great, although the EasyJet A319's are far less comfortable than Ryanair's B737-800's. That said, my favourite short haul plane is the E190/195.

I flew an E195 Toronto - Calgary. Not a bad plane for a four hour flight, especially with Air Canada's IFE. Do a four hour domestic flight on AA and see if you get your own TV. Will you bollocks :D

Re: Planespotting

The airline I fly most frequently is BA (BOS-LHR). The majority of the flights are 777s but there usually is a 747 thrown into the mix. I've learned the hard way to dodge that one wherever possible, as BA's 747s are held together with chewing gum and bits of string - I've had far too many gate delays where pieces have fallen off and they need to wake up some guy the opposite end of Hounslow to come and glue it back on again.

Re: Planespotting

For smoothness of ride, I've yet to find anything better than the 340-600. It's probably still my favorite aircraft as it was the most fun to park when I was a marshaller at Heathrow. The 380 seemed to spend more time on the ground with tec problems than it did in the air when I was there LOL. With regards to 747's, I could probably count on one hand the amount of times I was called to a full emergency involving a 747. Airbus's, it was a couple a week.

In addition to their E-jets, I've also become quite accustomed to Flybe's Q400's on various routes out of SOU, which aren't bad for a couple of hours at a time. And I'm hopping over to Ireland next week with Aer Arann BOH-DUB, so will get to try an ATR72 for the first time.

I've always wanted to fly on some of the Russian aircraft like the Tupolevs and Ilyushins. Anyone ever flown these planes?
