My wife is involved in the first phase of firewood creation, since she is the only one to use a chainsaw (I'll assist her but won't touch the saw, I just don't like power tools.) But from then on it's only me - hauling out, cleaning up brush, splitting, stacking, fire feeding & tending, chimney sweeping etc.)

I'd have to find a lighter first, I have one in the house in case of power outage emergencies Which was put to use last weekend...

I know our son nicks pens a lot then takes them apart. Are your children, perhaps, to blame?

I bet if we did find the place the pens went, I'd not have so many unpaired socks in my drawer anymore
They are to blame for most things!

I see I need to buy my wife a chain saw.

Next peeve:
Radio 5; I understand that they have contractual obligations, but when the gane is on, and not broadcast online; why not repeat a recent show from the last week or so, why instead of the game does it have to be the same unfunny crap from forever ago.

Some twisties aren't bad, it's the thin weedy ones I object to, where the paper strip comes off after a couple goes, then you're left with a thin bit of wire that's crap.

No problem in my house, we have thousands of good-quality pre-used replacement twisties on hand. We inherited them when my MIL died.

I did my share of that as a kid filling up the wood box, since we had a small wood stove in the kitchen. We also had a wood furnace but at age 8, I wasn't quite strong enough to handle THOSE chunks.

I liked to split wood with a 12 pound sledge and a wedge. Took three times as long as it would have taken my father, but I insisted,

I should work for uni-ball. I've converted millions over to their pens.
Sorry, but every Uni-Ball I've ever tried felt "scratchy" when I tried to write, so I refuse to use them. Hubby seems to like them, though. I like the Pilot Precise V5 - besides, they come in colours!
