Pet Peeves?

That's the only time I ever go in there, when I get a gift card at work.
Thing is, I don't drink coffee and their tea's kind of shite, so all that leaves me is the food, which is getting increasingly more poncified and wanky every time I go in.

People who talk about starbucks thereby spreading the word - the small "s" is intentional

Speaking of Starbucks reminds me of a pet peeve.
#7 on this list and many more like it. Who are these people that spend $5 a day getting a cup of coffee. If there really are people that think not spending that is a revelation, then they really don't deserve to have any spare cash.

How much is the per cup cost if you just make it yourself? I only ever used instant back home before I stopped drinking it, but it had to be pennies a cup, since I didn't put milk or sugar in. Can't me that much more if you use a French press or a coffee machine. Surely even those K-cup jobbies have to be cheaper in the long run.
I certainly hate the idea of spending a couple of bucks on a cup of (usually not great) tea when I can just use the teabags I have in my office and spend about 5c on a cup

Fed up of all the daily bull sh*t mail from Publishers Clearing House. The missus thinks she's going to win the 5 grand a month for life. Fortunately she's not ordering any subscriptions for Readers Digest or Quilting Gazette

And why is it always the 'venti' size? Heavens knows why anyone should need to imbibe that much frothy warm milk twice daily.
On the odd occasion that my wife and I go it's because we're swinging through the drive thru for convenience for a caffeine hit. And we always end up cursing ourselves 'cause Starbucks' coffee tastes like $h!t.

I gave up most fancy coffees a number of years ago, I might now have 2-3 a year, but when the price difference from small to a medium and a medium to a large is only 20-30c, while the $4+ price for the "venti" is pretty outrageous, it is much better value than paying over $3 for a small cup.

There's only one circumstance that I pay for a cup of coffee, it happens about three times a year. That's flying into Heathrow from North America.
The reason is, I normally make either a litre or 500ml of strong black coffee early in the morning at home (depending on whether it's for just me or two of us.) Landing at LHR at about nine in the morning, I take the tube to Liverpool St. station with usually about an hour to wait for my train, so I have a medium americano at one of the coffee places there. The timing is about right, noon UK time or seven AM New York time. So that staves off the appalling headache that would have ensued if I'd gone over the twenty four hours with no coffee.
