Pet Peeves?

I have to agree. Blueberries don't really taste very strongly of anything. I can eat them, but all I get is a mild generic berry flavour. Probably for the better though, at least then the American need to add more ingredients to food (usually nuts/fruits/grains, or some kind of topping - syrup, sauce, sugar, cinnamon) is sated by blueberries in many cases so I don't have to put up with tasting raspberry in everything.

One of my favourites when dieting because blueberries are so low in calories is 0% Greek yogurt with some frozen blueberries and stevia. I mix it well but let is sit for a little while and the blueberries start thawing and turning the yogurt blue. It is delicious.

Especially disappointing because they imitate blackcurrants and then taste of nothing while blackcurrants are a party in your mouth, especially swirled around in ice cream with cream poured on top.

The most tasteless fruit known to man. Not much sweetness, just a little acidity. Surely the ideal fruit for people who don't actually like fruit.
I would never buy blueberries, or anything with them in, but I love yogurt and my primary peeve with blueberries is that I can't buy a mixed case of fruit yogurt without one third of the pots containing blueberry yogurt!

Unfortunately, nearly all the ones sold in grocery stores around here tend to come from NY and NJ and they're the tasteless large ones. It's the same with strawberries though.

Now you're talking...perhaps throw in meringue...
They can't hold a candle to English strawberries...

Perhaps that's the difference, they are wonderful here in France. By the way, that is even the frozen ones!
