Phonetic spelling for some accents and not others is one of my pet peeves.

It's an old one, but it seems to be cropping up a lot, but the massively over tripped happy anniversary type messages on FB.

I mean I could thank the missus for not shooting me in the face with a shotgun and burying me in the garden, but then I could just go tell her as she's right here...

A simple, "yay, it's another anniversary" is more than enough.

Same for birthdays.

I could probably copy and paste this into the FB thread too

Is there anything more annoying than the sound of flip flops?

Well, quite a few close contenders of course. Other drivers, millennials, extroverts, school buses, people, politics, religion. But that bloody sound, just **** off and jam your flip flops up your arse, please.

Haha, thought of this the other day when wearing a pair of sandals that still sound like flipflops when I walk. Was wondering round hoping no-one else in the office thought like you.

I'm sure many people did

I have to say, it does make me question the sensibility of an office dress code that says I can't wear jeans or trainers Monday to Thursday, but they allow those bloody things all week

I don't want to do well anywhere where it is considered acceptable for people to have bare feet outside their house.

I hate flip flops. They are only acceptable at the beach, at the pool or just after a pedicure. All other incidences of flip flop wearing should be punishable by amputation of the feet

There was a small error in your post, but I think I've cleared it up ok.

That has nothing to do with the sound they make. Just that they exist.
