I still love the library though. That booky smell and blissful silence. Couldn't ask for more.

We have loads of books, and loads of bookcases, eight I think. Mrs P has a few e-books which she reads on her phone. I have never read an e-book, and can't currently imagine the circumstances under which I would do so.

It'd certainly help, I think.

We have loads of books but not much room for bookcases. Well, we sort of do in the basement but my guitars get priority for space down there, though I do have one small bookcase and a sideboard I keep some in down in my little section. Once we finish it and have proper walls in I can put up more shelves, but for now many of our books are safely tucked away in totes and boxes.

When Mam died last year I started transferring over a lot of my old books that were stored in her house - I had asked her to look after them for me for a year when I went to Singapore in '95!! It has spurred me to finally get around to setting up an office/study in what was formerly a 'wasted' room (really architects, does anyone need/use a "formal living" these days??). The work has gone extremely slowly as I've been re-acquainting myself with "old friends" that have been in boxes for a couple of decades. It's actually very comfortable now, sitting here typing this, surrounded by volumes of books that have brought, and continue to bring a lot of pleasure. I doubt I will ever feel that way about a hard drive

My comic books just moved house with us. Causing a situation that needs to be resolved at some point.

The 10 hour version has much better sound quality, although the keyboard tapping gets a bit annoying around the 3rd hour It did however segway () nicely to the 20 minute Kitchen Breakfast which sounded good, if you ignored the pictures, which were a bit icky. Now I'm hungry. Which was normally my reason for leaving the library when I was at uni......funny old circular world, eh?

One day.

It is. Sort of narrow bit next to the furnace.

I'll hazard a guess, from the ledgy thing a few feet off the floor, that yours is a partially below-grade lookout basement like ours. I learned in my last job that they're called English basements out here. No bloody idea why.

But I digress. I can't wait to get ours finished, so I can buy more gear and expand into the new space.

It's built as below grade, and yet it isn't. Kind of odd choice really. Probably due to the proximity of the river, but still strange.
