Long ago and far away in Falls Church, VA, I was in a pharmacy. The pharmacist, wanted to charge me $1000+ for a prescription instead of the usual $20.
I said " I don't understand!", meaning " Explain why the meds cost so much", whereupon she started repeating herself slowly and loudly to me as if I was senile. Cue the line I'd been saving up - " I understand English, I am English!" |
