Yeah, with a family history of diverticulitis, I expect I can look forward to completing the unholy trinity of "oscopies" as I get older - the preparation for a colonoscopy doesn't sound great though.

Yeah the prep is the worst. I started the day with an omelette and toast. I got through the day by sucking on clear mints and drinking lots of water. The first time I had a colonoscopy...I didn't go to the toilet until the following morning just before I left home.

Could have been worse still, you could be male. Thankfully I haven't had to endure such a procedure, I think perhaps it would be connected to prostate issues, and I hear that of the "oscopies" that is the most painful and unpleasant.

Makes my eyes water just thinking about it! I can't think anyone sane would want to do that without heavy duty anaesthesia.

Jay and I had our first colonoscopy's last year, definitely the prep' and after effects were worse than the procedure.

Just got back from my 2nd 'oscopy' in 2 days, this time it was a colcoscopy, uncomfortable, but no biggy really....no sedation/pain management offered for that one!

Could someone please create a Wiki for oscopies? I'm trying to keep track of what I'm going to need and what sort of drugs that will enable me to get.

You can cross a dickoscopy off your list.

Always a plus. I wouldn't like to be the recipient of one of those. Nor, indeed, the performer of one.

I've heard it involves a LOT of water. Sounds like hell. Think I would rather be water boarded.

Well for god's sake don't tell them that in Guantanamo.

My fridge beeps if a door is left open. If it's so damn clever why can't it close the door itself, why does it wait until we've sat down to beep. Poxy technology!

Would that be the medical term for it up there in NJ?
