What are you talking about? Sitting at home, pissing away all my time on the Internet is my dream!

It's OK though, the degree would probably have been next to useless out here anyway, had I got it

Nicely done!

I was the opposite, I had BBCD (I don't count the D - it was in biology :sneaky:) in my A-levels, then got to uni and threw it all away :(

Thicko, I got BBCC (although one of those was General Studies, so doesn't really count).

Special words are used to describe PhDs who insist on being called Dr.

I'm going to stick my neck out here and guess that 'doctor' isn't one of them ...

Bloody Virginians who freak out at the first sign of snow and crash their cars all over the place. Want to go home (office is officially shut) but all the roads out are clogged up, so might as well stay in the warm and dry for now.

Off topic, but I read that as 'bloody virgins' the first time

I got great grades (incl an A in Biology :p ), which enabled me to land a place at Liverpool medical school, then I threw it all away. :( Then I dusted myself off, and after turning down a place at Guy's dental school in London  I settled for something more humdrum that set me, eventually, after several random twists of fate, on my current career path. :)

Yeah, I'm looking at Midlothian Turnpike out of the window and it's nose to bumper 5mph traffic jam as far as the eye can see.....

Interesting that it was all the native Virginians that were first to ask when we could go home when it started snowing. I mean, there is literally only an inch of snow on the ground! :frown: At 3.30pm the only people still here were my boss (from New York) and me (northern england). And we're still here now because we can't actually go anywhere if we do leave....

Funny how it works out, isn't it? Now I have enough experience in my field (which is quite different from physics) where I don't even need a degree anymore to find work/advance/whatever.
