It's WAY more informative than the UKIP thread. And less dirty laundry too!*

*No thanks to those dirty front loaders.

My mother used it into the 1990s
That isn't the picture I loaded, or that was up last night

The washing machine I grew up with didn't actually have a face.

I expect the immigrants have been buying all the washing machines, hence the dirty laundry crisis. British machines for British dirty socks, I say.

I've been framed.

Anyway, this is the machine.

Aagh. Trying again.

Well in her case it was the machine..... Her husband died in the 70's, but he may have been the washer of clothes in the 30's and 40's before they got their first machine in the 50's, but I couldn't say for sure.

Ah yes, I see now, that is a totally different machine.

Someone who has a microwave and an espresso machine still has a twin tub?

My recollection, which may be wrong, was that twin tub my mother had, had its washing and spin tubs on the opposite sides.

Ours looked a lot like this, although I don't remember such a comprehensive control panel

I don't believe for one moment that many of the 100 million people in Mexico are doing their laundry in a creek. ..... I would go so far as to say that I doubt that a statistically significant number of the 21 million of the residents of greater Mexico City are relying on an open waterway for their laundry.

While Mexico has a major poverty issue, there are certainly middle and upper class who do have laundry inside their nice homes.

There are also enough Mexican's with money to keep a pretty robust domestic airline system within Mexico and those routes are not all tourists.

That seems a little premature. It could be weeks before we get another thread.
