If you had the space and money, what about commercial grade front loaders for home use? The one's at work can do like 80 pounds of laundry at once, but they are a tad on the big side...

At the risk of sounding like HH, if money was no object Miele make a range of commercial laundry appliances which I hear are extremely good. If we ever get the money together to build our dream home, room for a Miele commercial laundry set will be one of the features.

I wonder how much those run....considering how much they charge for household versions...lol

We don't have top of the line commercial ones at work, I'll have to grab the brand next time I work. I do know they are about 20 years old, and still going strong.

Curious why you posted a picture of Chinese earthquake survivors in response to a comment about Mexico?

BTW - a 2011 study showed 2/3 of Mexican households had a washing machine. Doesn't specify front or top loader though

About the same, according to this article as US residents "living in poverty". ..... Of which I suspect a substantial proportion are Mexicans.

Maybe I'm mis-reading your posts...but this is 2nd time in a week that you seem to be implying that I'm being duplicitous.
Are you?

The question was posed because that photo seems to be attributed to AFP stock from Teh Eng Koon of, as I said, Chinese earthquake survivors. `

I didn't and still don't, see the relevance of that to the post you were replying about Mexico?

Combine that with the rather condescending implication that Mexicans wouldn't need to worry about top loaders or front loaders because they wash their clothes in streams, and it seems somewhat inconsistent with the terribly PC approach taken when I dared to say that my Chinese wife considers herself Oriental.

Why are you offended at someone pointing out something quite obvious to all the rest of us?

Well the likely alternative is "ignorant". So which is it?

If you put five search terms into Google it will find the best matches it can, but every hit isn't going to match all five search terms. When a number of hits apparently are of Mexicans, the puzzle is to why you selected to link to a picture of some Chinese people?
