It's been overlooked I am sure because it's only for best song, but aren't 2 of the people behind Earned It from fifty shades of grey black?
The Weekend & Jason Daheala Quenneville while Canadian look black to me.
Maybe they don't count as they are not American?

The alleged problem is the four acting categories.

The way its being reported up here, they have made it seem as if it's an issue in general, not specific to just acting.... Oh well maybe there were just no good black actors in movies this year, I don't recall seeing any good movies with a black lead in the past year.

The New York Times's critics had black actors amongst their Oscar nominee predictions -- I recall Samuel L Jackson and Michael B Jordan. Never see a movie till it shows up on DVD, so can't comment. (Other than to say there should be a special place in purgatory for whoever came up with the concept of the awards show . . .)

I always watch them, and I will probably watch this year too. I like awards shows, except all the red carpet stuff. The mother of a friend of mine is a member of the Academy and she votes for the awards. She sent him a bunch of the dvds she got of all the movies that she has to watch before voting. We borrowed a couple of them because we hadn't seen the movies at the cinema.

I am going off whats her name Smith stated, but I think the argument has expanded. Likely candidates would included Chiraq, Spike Lees film, got lots of praise, but I havent seen it, but is one reason why Spike Lee is upset.

I saw a bit of the movie, clips playing during an extended interview, and it looked unappealing and difficult to watch. FWIW I'm a Spike Lee fan(ish) ... I've liked some of his movies and think Crooklyn is one of the loveliest movies I've ever seen.

The problem is if the ones complaining were involved in movies from 2015 but were not nominated it tends to sound like sour grapes! Would Jada Pinkett Smith have even started this if Will had been nominated?

Somebody mentioned The Butler ( know that wasn't this year) and Oprah getting the hump. TBH, her performance was quite good, and it made me wish she would act more and stop trying to force me to be my best me, but the movie itself was quite terrible.
EDIT - Crooklyn rocks!

Yeah, it's not like it's been her "issue" before now, or has it? I dunno. I don't put a lot weight on what Pinkett-Smith says one way or another. Maybe it was a year without many potential black candidates?
