Considering the fact that hispanics outnumber blacks in the US, it is the hispanics that have been short-changed by the Oscars, not the blacks. I think wins and nominations for blacks outnumber those for hispanics in all the acting categories.
There seems to be an irony that the second Oscar (of any sort) given to a black (the first was given to Hattie McDaniel for her role as Mammy in Gone with the Wind), was given to James Baskett for his role in Song of the South.

Some of the stars of today complaining, probably don't even know who James Baskett is.
Sad he died fairly young, and wasn't permitted to attend the films premier because of the segregation laws of the time in Atlanta.
Probably the one movie modern day Disney company wishes wasn't made, although they do use certain aspects from the movie to this day but most don't seem realize the theme of Splash Mountain for example is from this movie.

I remember Oprah Winfrey being highly upset when "Lee Daniels, the butler" didn't win a nomination. I mean how could Hollywood do such a thing knowing that Queen Oprah had starred in it? Shock ! shock!
I saw the movie when it was released to TV. Dull as ditchwater. Fell asleep 2/3 the way through
On the other hand I enjoyed a very good movie made in 1971 called "Sounder" with the principal actors being African-Americans. I believe that movie did receive some awards

I honestly don't get the mentality that complains about something like the Oscars how they ignore the blacks but has BET and MOBO or suggests that some Oscars should be for blacks thus ensuring a continuing divide between some blacks and some whites. It's all bollox anyway, just drop the Oscars then no one can complain they've not been nominated.

I'm pretty pissed that I've never won an Oscar. Never even nominated. I'd bet they don't even know my name. It's obviously unfairly slanted that Oscars are only won by high profile movie stars. Talk about inequality!
So, not only am I boycotting the Oscars, I will never watch any film again. That'll teach those selfish racist, sexist, money-grubbing celebs who's boss.

BET is White owned , but the very reason for the cretion of BET or any other award or club started by Blacks primarily for Blacks is because they were not allowed into the White clubs. This is also why Black motorcycle riders started their own riding club , because White clubs would not let them in.
People seriously need to get over themselves. The whole thing is just a OMG Look-At-Me self-entitled bitch fest anyhow. (The Oscars themselves and this latest "drama").

You just know they'd call them the Bloscars
But no, there shouldn't, because the Oscars themselves are a stupid little backslapping circlejerk between industry members anyway. Why do black actors even care that they're part of that wankfest or not?
Personally I don't think I could give less of a **** about the awards myself if my dick fell off.
