Well round these parts its fish, fish and more fish. Its reasonable price here, I've never had as much salmon in my life as here as its a good price
If you are looking for 'British' fish ie cod etc, can't get it or expensive. But tilapia I find cooks quite like haddock (never heard of that fish until living here!) and is as cheap as chips
And I say all the time does it smell fishy as I know its not fresh if it does.

Where's here? Most of the salmon around here is farmed and I wont eat that, difficult to get wild caught.
Pollocks not too bad either but not as "meaty" as cod. Cods expensive anywhere these days as its so depleted worldwide

Here is Seattle and I eat farmed any Salmon I can get (know the dangers don't eat it that often!)

Know about cod, I personally don't like it in fish and chips, I like haddock, which is probably not much better re depleted stocks worldwide

I love haddock too and I really miss proper smoked haddock poached in milk and butter. The only place I can get it in CT is a really high end supermarlket it costs a kings ransom is special order and is far too salty. Imported from somewhere in canada. Dont suppose they have kippers in Seattle do they?

Oh I love smoked poached haddock. Used to make it often back home.

Pity I can't get it here.

IB, farmed salmon is chockablock full of chemicals. Better to go and do some fishing yourself in those waters of yours

I found Wild Alaskan Salmon at Walmart of all places. I don't know if WA allows the evil empire in there, but worth a try

So is mackerel which is wot kippers come from. Tuna too, in fact I think most fleshy fish are these days whether they're farmed or "free".

Oh you can get them here, sometimes its hard to find. Nearly sure I got them in pike place market or around there.
I don't like them obviously as much as you, as my heart wouldn't break if I couldn't get them (haven't had them for a while)

I got that as well, was it on a cedar plank? I do try for the wild stuff though only when the price is OK.

They sell about 6 huge fillets for 7 bucks. Well worth the price. It is frozen, but not bad.

Well okay my hearts not broken but I am certainly jealous. I shall have to force OH to take another trip to WA and tag along this time around. Pike market you say?
