"Mr. Bellinger said that among the signatories, “some will vote for” Mrs. Clinton, “and some will not vote, but all agree Trump is not qualified and would be dangerous".

...

“He is unable or unwilling to separate truth from falsehood,” the letter says. “He does not encourage conflicting views. He lacks self-control and acts impetuously. He cannot tolerate personal criticism. He has alarmed our closest allies with his erratic behavior. All of these are dangerous qualities in an individual who aspires to be president and commander in chief, with command of the U.S. nuclear arsenal.”

Predictably...I think both are a security risk and both are unsuitable candidates for POTUS. Predictably...you have blinkers on.

And yet some of these Republican security officials will vote for Clinton... I guess they don't have such a binary view of things as you seem to have.

I don't care who others are voting for. IMO neither Trump or Clinton should be POTUS.

As you've made abundantly clear a million times. Rather more interesting is that some Republican security officials are so troubled by their party's candidate that they'll vote for Clinton.

Like I said I am neither influenced or bothered who others vote for.

Do you have a vote?

You don't think letters like that from former senior Republican security officials might give pause to some potential Trump voters and/or backers?

"We are convinced that in the Oval Office, he would be the most reckless President in American history.”

By any measure that's a pretty extraordinary comment for such senior ex-officials to make about the nominee from their own party.

It seems like the GOP are pushing harder than ever for an actual alternative to Trump. It can't be too long before the backlash from dumping Trump for someone else will actually be better than the resentment of keeping him on the ballot as the official republican nominee.

It's clear to anyone with an IQ of over 60 that the bottom of the barrel has been scraped to find the nominees for both parties (not that Trump is in any way a genuine republican/conservative).

So much for the creme de la creme.......

Still waiting for the big news story that this was all a joke and they'll start the real nomination process soon.

It seems obvious that this is not an attempt at actually winning the White House but rather denying Trump any chance of victory. Specifically in the battle ground states.

This gives conservatives somebody that they can hold their head up and vote for rather than voting for Clinton or abstaining.

Yeah it's far too late for a real challenge as he can't get on the ballot on many states.

Yeah but it's relatively cheap to file a lawsuit to get on the ballot. I'm just catching up ... does anybody know who is behind this? Money-wise that is.

Not sure, I do know that Rick Wilson is the "brains" behind it.

Not surprising. He's been beating this drum from jump. This election is dynamic if nothing else. And it's quite possible there's nothing else.
