If Clinton is smart, then her ground game will be oriented around driving female and minority turnout. A majority of white guys are going to vote Republican, regardless.

In other words, it probably won't be that much different from other elections.

The pundits are so overwhelmed by Trump that they are failing to recognize that his main achievement was taking advantage of a relatively weak and diffuse field of contenders. (The Republicans were convinced that they had a "deep bench," but that proved to be a bad joke.)

The ground game. The Clinton's have long time relationships with the black churches, as well as the local governments, in heavily African American districts. These are deep and well tended relationships. Oh, and Hillary has not threatened to throw out all of the Mexicans for being rapists. So she might have some favorability with the Hispanic vote.

The Republican field was complete shit. There was no standout /charismatic candidate.

The same African Americans who were bullied into voting for Obama and have subsequently seen their prospects actually get worse under him? Yeah, I'm sure they'll be lining up around the block to vote for Clinton

As for the quality of the GOP candidates, at least there was some diversity, the Dems, meanwhile, put up 3 career politicians, at least one of them a multi millionaire and all 3 white

So Trump couldn't have failed to have all but won the nomination by now, all in a day's work for an amateur politician. Those experienced senators he was up against were open goals, so were highly popular figures like Bush. But senator Clinton, who only ever had 2 candidates to beat, who's had the last 4 years to prepare for this still hasn't clinched the nomination and is still losing states to a 70 year old socialist but according to you, no issue there. The shrinking leads she holds over Trump also mean nothing, most people don't even know there's an election coming up. Morons. She'll walk the election once all the women and immigrants come out for her like good little lemmings

So this was on a post elsewhere today.

"In the general election, any vote for Clinton is a vote for Trump."

Maybe its the late hour, but does this statement make any sense to anyone?

A statement like that can only make sense when there are three or more major candidates on the ballot. So far, I only see two, Trump and Clinton. Other candidates are very minor, various socialists etc.

There will be other candidates. I can see Gary Johnson and Jill Stein becoming something of a two-headed Nader in this election. Not sure how the split in the vote will affect things, but I can see it going Clinton's way for now.

I believe you. I have had at least two weird Trump related dreams. One of which was a quite messed up mash-up with The Walking Dead. The world was ending during a Trump rally. I haven't even been drunk in over a year as well so I don't know where that came from

The only piece of reassurance that I can find for what might happen if Trump did win the general, is that even with a Republican Congress, he'd not be able to get much done, since they don't even really like him either, in the main. Doubly so if the Democrats can win back the House in the next cycle.

I get the sentiment of 'Make America Great Again' and why so many people lap it up, but the execution is all wrong. If one does aspire to make America 'great' it shouldn't be by going back in time. It should be by growing the economy, creating wealth and jobs, improving healthcare, rebuilding the crumbling infrastructure and maintaining an acceptable standard of quality of life for all citizens and residents. Kind of what Sanders is proposing, ironically.

As that tombstone in Central Park read, Trump's platform is more like "Make America Hate Again".

Probably the opinion of Sanders supporters.

Maybe it means that Hillary is such a lousy Dem candidate that it's by no means certain at this time that she could beat Trump in November. On the other hand it's believed that Bernie would stand a better chance of beating Trump
