They used to pay a lot more, had a friend who ski bummed probably 20 years ago and was getting $15 an hour then, now they are minimum wage.

That is what he told me. I have no reason to disbelieve him. The conversation was in a 'my life' context, he was not making a political point, said how he and a few friends used to spend the winters in the ski resorts, partying and skiing and cleaned accommodation to fund it.

Where I am is more summer focussed and I have heard that some of the hotels bring in cleaners from the ski resorts as they are slow and the quality of the local labour is shall we say extremely debatable.

As I understand it back then there was not an illegal community to draw from, relatively new.

Ski resorts also use H2b's and J1's but i do not think they are cleaners.
