You are quite adept at missing the point.

Expertise outside of the field of brain surgery could be limited, depending on the person, for example.

So brain surgeon doesn't automatically equal 'really smart'. I mean, that's hardly rocket science, is it?
OK, maybe Carson's an idiot savant. Does that work?

Why is it that every question that a conservative answers stupidly is always referred to as a "gotcha" question? They are nearly always very open-ended softballs and the person just spouts off.

It could, but it isn't really important.

It was more the (universal I might add) assumption that because person X does job Y, that automatically means that they're really smart, when in reality it doesn't have to follow.

It's the same as the classic 'if they have a degree from wherever, they must be smart', when I've known highly qualified people who couldn't critically think their way out of a wet paper bag.

Admittedly a tangent, but there you go.

The exception is for those on the left, who are automatically classed as "elitists".

It's amusing how a group of people who so frequently make statements that are racist, sexist and stupid are outraged by those who accuse them of being racist, sexist and stupid.

They're always banging on about the need to take personal responsibility, yet they never do. Personal responsibility must be for other people.

Don't you love it when our leaders say, after some debacle: "I take personal responsibility for this [whatever]"...but no one resigns, no one is fired, they just move on, having taken "personal responsibility."

Well, there is one election that will be held tomorrow, so a good pint of Nut Brown should suffice. Any predictions? Tories in a squeaker? Labour in a clean sweep?

Telegraph has a fun tool to "Form your coalition."
