We came here last year, we have been here almost a year. We earn very little, we have filed for bankrupcy in the UK, so we have NOTHING TO FALL BACK ON. WE HAVE no savings, WE cannot use a credit card to bail ourselves out. BUT. We manage! I think this whole fail/ succeed thing is not just about research, it's about wants, needs and expectaions.
I can do a weekly shop for 50 euro's, that can be lunch dinner and breakfast for a family of 4, good food as well, not cheap crap. We spend very little on going out and entertainment, we are resourceful,
If you want a life stlye that feels like you are on holiday the whole time, expext the consequences to be dissatisfaction.
I am afraid I disagree with glad 2 be back.
The funny thing is she has left here and moved to kent, where I left and was disparate to get away from ! It really is a bout perspective and personnel experience.
I think everyone started to feel a bit judged by the word fail, when really it is just a word. There are more important things to get your knickers in a twist about.
I hope this has not offended any one, and let me know if you need any tips on living cheap, the first thing you need is a truck load of humility and the rest follows quite easily.

What do you disagree with, that I don't agree it makes you a failure to leave? I'm confused. Or that I like Kent and you don't, it's getting silly now.

That doesn't surprise me, plenty of people relish on the fact that others have left or as not doing as well as they have or say they have.
As someone else's failure makes them feel superior, met plenty of those, 10 a penny along the CDS.

Hi glad.
Where in Kent did you end up? It sounds like things have sorted themselves out and you feel you are moving on. I hope life feels better for you now, you obviously left here with hopes for the UK.
I for one do not relish in any ones unhappiness, that would be mean and evil. I always hope that people with sadness find a way through and can find contentment again. Life is tough in any country for many different reasons. I honestly think most people want the best for each other, not the need to feel satisfaction in others failure. I will always believe this.
You may think I am a silly naive little girl. I am not. I have had extreme life experiences and have learnt the art of letting go and moving on. Life is too short to hold on to anger, the only person it hurts is you.
good luck with all you do.

How you can feed a family of 4 on 50E a week is beyond me, and everyone seems to presume that we left Spain pennyless. We left on a high, my OH had loads of work when we left the most he ever had. We had enough money to set us up initially in the UK. We didn't need to sell our house. We planned to leave which took over a year to put into action. We certainly didn't go cap n hand like so many others do back to blighty.

Forget that, just re-read some of your old posts, old grudge...let go of past luv..I have. You were obviously a member of the other forum and will disagree with everything I say. Even if you really do agree as I said I didn't agree with word "fail" as did you.

I just wanted to present a balanced view.
I dont hold a grudge, sorry dont understand that either.
I dont get into dialogue usually on this forum, I just wanted to let you know that I thought you sounded much happier than when you first came on here. And that is a good thing in a nice way. Just take it as it is meant, with kindness.
