Well, in Lovely Lancashire it has been 25 degrees recently... hot hot hot... and humid. Have the fans on in the bedrooms at night, and I`ve been feeling very moist during the day. Ok, not like you lot, but this is the UK and we don`t have aircon at home and swimming pools in our gardens so maybe 25 is just right. Considering 25 is your winter, normally, and -3 or -4 is ours.. I think it all evens out really. You lot moan in summer and we moan in winter.

very moist during the day ???? Was that the weather ????

I have just returned from Yorkshire and the last few days of last weekend and Monday-Tuesday were lovely, warm and sunny.

What was even nicer was that it really cooled down towards bed time so sleeping was not a problem .............. not like it is here now - hence i'm still here at bloody past midnight and my bedroom is warmer than toast !!!

Moist... the weather too, Lorna ... Yorkshire? Where is that?? Well, of course it has to be much hotter in Lancashire but yes, it has been lovely, warm and sunny. Which is why people move abroad...... and not for the uncomfortable heat. I read that unless you have a pool you are buggered. I pity the poor spaniards who live in ordinary houses and apartments and have done for centuries.

Nice to have you on here Lorna

thanks ........... no idea where all the folks are in Italy ........ they can't all have fallen asleep in this heat unless they all have air con !

And as bad luck goes I'm basically chained to the hot house here for the next 20 days .............. landed in italy on Thursday after a fab time in Yorkshire ....was looking forward to a bit of time spent at the sea - rivers - lakes and open air pools and poor little five year old son went and broke his bloody arm on Friday !!!!!!!!!

Not his fault poor little mite but shit ......... it's bloody August and it's hot. I do think though that i can hear the faint rumblings of thunder so I might be able to dance naked on the terrace if a storm hits - hope it's not just one of those localised ones that you can hear from a distance but then it moves round avoiding getting your own house refreshed but leaving it muggier than ever !!!!!!!!!

can still hear the thunder but no naked dancing yet - no rain.
It doesn't seem to be getting closer but knowing my luck the strom will break overhead an hour after I have inally fallen asleep and i'll wake up to the crashing of windows - banging of doors and the lustful rush of cold rain lashing down.

I'll run around the house like an idiot closing windows and I'll settle down again only to discover that the storm lasted all of 5 minutes leaving the air even muggier than before as the heat from the earth turns to steam !!!!!!!!

Poor mite. Can`t think of anything worse than having an arm in plaster.. Hang on..... Arm in plaster at a trillion degrees in Italy. UK sounds really good now! It will feel worse for you cos you have experienced lovely weather here.. Now you are feeling the unbearable. Swings and roundabouts.. I envy you in winter and you I in summer (hopefully )

I take a towel in the van that's wrapped round a 2 litre coke bottle full of water frozen solid.

It's lovely to have a cold towel to wipe your face on.

He's being so good as well so I have to suffocate the scream in me that shouts "we could have been at the pool today !"

Occasionally he points to his arm and tells me it is so hot in there and we have some chop-sticks he's using to scratch a bit inside.

Thank christ for Disney channel and lego .... and the fact that he broke his right arm but is actually left handed so can still eat and drink and play and do pictures without too much help. He does need a bit of help getting his pants down for a wee though bless him as his bad arm is platered all the way to his knuckles and thumb ! I do love him but I did want to get a bit of sun on my legs ! Still ----- we can go away in September ....... Italy has just changed back to school day to September the 15th !!!!!!!!! Can you believe it ?????????

Still wet and grey here.

We manage without a pool in Spain.

You'll bloody wish you had one when you get here for good. Its a huge relief to be able to get in there when the heat gets just overpowering. I'm often in there for a dip at 3 in the morning just to cool down so I can sleep

We shall see. The only time we were there in mid summer, it was pretty hot, but we have made some changes since then, so it will be interesting to see what effect they will have.

Hey bil, it rained here today... bounced... for about 10 mins. Then stopped. It`s still warm.

It was just warm and muggy and grey. Irritatingly I had to get a squirrel's drey out of a chimney today, which is a lot of hard work at the best of times.
