Hi Chiclanagir,
I was told yesterday the grabber men are on strike (Rubbish pay - Boom Boom) so not a lot will happen Secondly no don't set fire to it as the adjoining vineyard looses his crop when this happens. To my knowledge at least twice in the last six years, including a disasterous one last year. Davexf |

Hi Chiclanagir,
The vineyard will produce grapes for the co-operative; you will witness a skip on the land - it will be filled with the grapes in a day and it will be taken to the co-op by Avila. The owner only gets peanuts for the harvest, thats why he walks every day to & fro the vineyard. Reputedly a 45 minute walk each way Dave |

I want to make in writing a complaint about the amount of rubbish surrounding our local bins which is now the size of a small house. I tried phoning but she said she didn´t understand me and put the phone down on me. Very frustrating. I did say it in Spanish not English by the way. There isn´t a problem with the emptying of the bins but the surrounding area. Can someone give me a good translation. Obviously I can use an online translater but usually it isn´t very good for something official.
Querria, por favor, que me ayudaran con los cubos de basura que hay al lado de mi casa en (the place where you house is) son demasiado pequeños y la basura rebosa. Le estaria muy agradecido si pudieran ayudarme con este tema. Atentamente. and put your name regards, marisol |

Maybe worth asking the council when the workers will end the strike.

Re: Translation Please
You have all been so helpful. I have seen nothing in the papers about a strike and will just wait and see if I get any response to my email.

But maybe your case does demonstrate why its important to have a good grasp of the language, be active in the community and forget UK tv and media. I know, i don`t no you or your life etc etc. I`m just kinda seeing it from the council`s view. Strikes don`t happen over night, there would have been ill feeling within the community, it would have been common knowledge. So how would the council respond to a person who cannot communicate in there language, is making complaints about there lack of service and is completely unaware of the strike.:o Doesn`t help the sterotyped imagine they have of English Guiri`s. |
