Re: The Secret of Zaras success??
This morning I saw a report about Osborne's driver parked in a disabled parking spot whilst he grabbed a McDonald's takeway breakfast.
Naturally, aside from the outrage of his obvious disrespect for the disabled, the debate quickly transformed into a discussion about how this event only proves his complete and utter incompetency as chancellor.
You couldn't make it up. Figure it out.

Point is, what does that have to do with his competency as chancellor? You can argue that either way, but using this example as proof of his (in)competency as chancellor is a bit of a stretch, don't you think?
Witch hunt. Sensationalism. But we love it, don't we?

Tory scumbag evil millionaire chancellors and ministers have "Chauffeurs". Labour ministers have "Drivers". It was in the Mirror.
Anyway it wouldn't have been his idea to park there, it would have been down to the security men. Can't have a British Chancellor of the Exchequer wandering across a car park in full view of terrorists.
It's a wonder though his police escort didn't nick him after the 'Plebgate affair'.

Not a pretty site, I've seen some of it myself and the conditions under which it is produced.
The produce from such places tends to be sadly lacking in flavour due mainly to it's greater reliance on artificial assistance of various means and as for the hygiene or lack of it, well that doesn't bear thinking about.

Those strawberries are awful. I like the small ones grown in the open, even though I have to wait for them. Same as the mangos they grow, taste nothing like the ones grown in the tropics.
When you look at all that plastic, little wonder that houses are cheap in Almeria
I would think that the Mirrors attempt to attack the Chancellor may have backfired according to comments. Popping to buy a beefburger instead of a slap up lunch in a country pub
Back to Zara, I don't think their stuff is as good or cheap as it used to be. Previously they had good fabrics like silk and wool.now a lot of it is like the old crimpline type.

We have a friend who has been part of the personal protection sqads for senior politicians and the Royal family ( incl William and kate ).
Protection of their principal is paramount so the rules of the road, disabled spaces etc are of no importance to them
As another poster said the driver could ahve been TOLD to park there. if he was just getting something for himself another matter.
Never let facts get in the way of a story.

Bit of illegal working going on here it seems. This where most of that gorgeous fresh fruit and veg we hear so much about in Spain comes from.

There have always been migrant labourers from North Africa working in poor conditions there, and inland CDS too. It's the only paid work they can get and they are glad of it.
Does the Mail suddenly expect its readers to demand ethically-produced vegetables and pay the price rise which would inevitably result? Or is it just another dig at Europe in general and Spain in particular?

Try this banker-bashing story and the comments afterwards.

Why are they reporting this as news? It's been going on for years! Consumers want fresh fruit and salad all year round regardless of season so they have to grow them under plastic. You can see it from space.

Not really. I'm not condoning what happens in the polytunnels, just pointing out that it isn't news.
I'm always suspicious when the Mail runs this sort of story. Given their history and editorial policy, I can't honestly believe they care about worker exploitation especially when it's African migrants. I suspect they have an ulterior motive, probably part of their anti-EU agenda.
