The Olympics

Not everybody likes it, in fact some hate it, but if you just use it for that hour or so when you want to watch the Beeb or ITV, it works.
It's like flicking a switch and saying "pretend I'm in the UK for an hour or so and hook me up to this programme" and when you have finished watching it, you flick the switch back to "off" or in this case "disconnect".
The BBC and ITV keep programmes on their sites for weeks as well so you don't even have to watch something the same day it is broadcast or even the same week.

From: That, there, that's not my post count... nothing to see here, move along.

You are incredibly childish, try cutting back on the booze, nowhere did I suggest Cav is shit, I think he's a brilliant cyclist, along with Wiggins, but to use the excuse that he was taking part in the TDF when he was beaten by someone also taking part in the same tour is pathetic, even by your standards. They had an off day, got the tactics wrong, nobody else was prepared to share the workload, so they lost. No disgrace in that, he's still the fastest man on a bike, that hasn't changed. Now trot off to the India forum like a good boy.
Its funny isn't it? The thread was actually quite fun, there was quite a bit of information flowing, some funny posts, quite a bit of activity on what is normally a very slow forum yet the only ones being nasty, petty and aggressive are the usual Spain posters..... Interesting, very interesting.

It's very quick. I've heard a few people say it didn't start for them the first time. If that happens just uninstall and start again.

See the Murrays lost at tennis too. Nothing new about that though.

I'm glad they gave that South Korean swimmer back his spot in the finals. It certainly didn't look like a false start. Didn't do him any good in the end of course, but still.

I've moved a ton of drivel to a thread elsewhere .... lets try and keep this thread pleasant .. I've truly had enough of the negativity, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I'm not saying we have to be sweetness and light, but is there really any need for all the nitpicking all of the time? Personally I don't believe so.
So just for once, can we please enjoy the moment of London's (and the UK's) moment in the national spotlight and celebrate the good, instead of moaning all of the time.
To that end, this lifted my soul today. I had read about Louis Walsh earlier today and they actually just showed it on US TV. Brilliant to hear the crowd roaring and Louis Smith's emotion.

Don't think I've ever even heard the phrase "British gymnasts" before. Well done them.

Well, what a stunningly good opening ceremony although the Team GB hooded outfits were more suitable for a day at a Kent Gym, very chav like; that aside I thought it a wonderful event.
All we need now are some medals

The live stream ended with "It's been a terrific night, a glorious ceremony, a rousing history lesson and far and away the best film that Danny Boyle never made." They also have a nice little video showing the highlights.
Marina Hyde, one of their regular writers said "Boyle's banquet felt as deliciously indigestible to global tastes as Marmite or jellied eels. I loved it."
Richard Williams said "For four years, following Beijing was thought to be the most thankless task in show business. Danny Boyle made it happen. He made the stadium seem bigger than it is, as big as the world. He gave a party, full of jokes and warmth and noise and drama, and he got the Olympics started."
Could someone point me to the bitchy bits?

Talking of which, lots of Croydon facelifts in the GB vs Australia ladies basketball - thought they were gonna have a full scale cat fight at one point!
