Oh dear Martha!
Really sorry to hear you've had such a rough week
Is it work related, or just life!??

I've only glimpsed bits on threads, but I gather you've got your parents in law staying with you, and that your MIL has been ill. Is that right?
No wonder you're stressed!

As for relaxation, I guess it depends how much time you've got (very little, I believe? ) and what you like doing.
For me the following things all help:

Take the dog for a walk, and just concentrate on the scenery around you without thinking about everything that's getting you down.

TELL the dog what's getting you down, while you stroke him/her. They're great listeners, and just one look from those big brown eyes is usually enough to send you all gooey!

Read a book, and say "sod it" to everything.

Write down why you're feeling low/ down/ fed up/ annoyed/ stressed/ whatever.................once it's out of your head, it doesn't seem so bad.
You can then throw the piece of paper away, or burn it!

Have a long soak in the bath, if
a) You can afford the water bill!
b) It won't take a week to fill the bath!

If you CAN have a bath, light some candles, put on your favourite music.......and have Michael join you

Go for a ride with Michael on your "beast!"

Go to bed!

(You can decide whether or not you want to link those last three items, and in whatever order!)

Hope you feel better soon.
Have you got anything nice to look forward to on the weekend?

Sending you love and hugs
from Sam xx

PS Oops! It took me so long to type this that loads of others have beaten me to it!
Still, I'll post it anyway.

A further PS......................

When I said the following things help me, I didn't exactly mean that I was in the habit of sharing a bath with Michael, you understand!!!

Does valium come in a small glass?

Just kidding. I'm trying to avoid alcohol at all costs at the moment.....it doesn't agree with my pancreas...but then again neither does stress, so which is the lesser of the two evils?

Anyway, thanks guys you've all made me smile and feel a bit better. Gotta get back to work *big ole pout*

P.S. Tried sharing out karma but the damn thingie keeps telling me I've got to spread it around more.....don't have a clue what it means and don't want to get hyper about that too, so sending much love and thanks

Hey Sam,

Gotta go for now, but thank you, thank you, thank you!

What with all the problems you have had, your caring of others is non-stop! You are a wonderful and caring person!

Sending lots of love your way too

PS The Beast is in for it's first service and won't have it till tomorrow and the stress is 100% work related, but I will take all of the advice of all the lovely people here

Thank you again!

I've just finished eating a bowlful of big, fat, juicy, dark red cherries that I picked on Tuesday

Am I allowed to whinge and moan that they've all gone now!!??

Yes of course you can but I am going to moan louder than you because I am so jealous - I adore freshly picked juicy cherries - how could you be so cruel to me!!!!!
