Well yes.... It is often said that the USA is the most uniform country in the world because it's media and advertising strictly tells its inhabitants how to behave (and think!) :)
Btw, why do you feel Spain cant hold a future for your children? My OH is Asturian and she and her family have had a top rate education and have amazing jobs. Much better than my family who grew up in an industrial Northern British town :D My children will always be foreigners (their names and how they look will always go against them)...your wife is lucky to of had a good education plus she is spanish too. |

Yes definitely a proud Asturian! Andalucia is like a foreign country to her :D
I can't count how many times I have been told this is Real Spain, as it was unconquered by the Moors...or something like that. It is a place to be proud of. |

yes, but it doesn't mean never doing anything English, either
why not 'as well as', instead of 'rather than' |

Wouldn't the people who are truly integrated spend more time on spanish forums than ex-pat ones:confused:

see - your neighbours are truly integrated Europeans:thumbsup:
A lot of the local schools here now have not only english lessons, but whole curriculums and class groups who study in english - Bilingual classes and no thery're not for the expats - they're not even allowed to do it - I know cos I tried to get my daughter into it thinking it would make her life easier. Local bars and restaurants now have a variety of menus, ranging from "typically spanish" to burger and chips, curries, chineses.... not for Brits, but for the Spanish, or whoever. Fashion, music, shops, restaurants are all european. Like I've said before, its no longer about integrating into a spanish community as such, its about us all getting along with our nieghbours. The community spirit is there somewhere I guess, but the Spanish around me are too busy to be an obvious part of it, so its difficlut to see it - I think its a shame, but its how the whole world is going Jo xx |

54% of Spanairds have internet at home with is above the EU average, but below that of the UK and Nordic countries. Interestingly nearly everyone with internet in Spain has broadband http://bandaancha.eu/articulo/6824/5...ancha-internet |

Truly integrated people wouldnt refer to the Spanish as "the Spanish"??????? They'd be part of "the Spanish" and would be one of them, so wouldnt refer to them gramatically as the "third person"??????? If that makes sense???
