Since this thread has now lost the Spanish element I am moving it to Siesta Time.

Yes, you're right - it was published in 1989 - it's recent to me though

I agree, Sarum and London are great books if you like historical novels. I didn't like his last book - New York, but then, the Americans are a bit short on history

Thanks. Is the 'should' a definite, as I need to know for sure before ordering?

Cheers.

That is a definite, I currently have 3 on the go, and it knows where I've got to on each one.

Thanks Mike, Perfect! I am now off to order then! Cheers!

By the way, once i've ordered, can i then start ordering the books straight away or do i have to wait for it to arrive?
Also, at the moment when i am looking at the books available for free or cheap on amazon, it says 'only available in the uk' instead of a price. Does anyone know why that is? I have tried changing my primary address from a spanish one to a uk one but that hasn't made any difference at all.

Thanks

I think it must mean amazon.co.uk rather than amazon.com. You should be able to start ordering as soon as you have bought it but of course you can´t download until it arrives!

You can order books straight away, then once you get the Kindle it should already be registered to you and you go into your account, manage your kindle and choose to send the books to your kindle. If you wish you can download Kindle for pc now and download the books to there as well and start reading on your pc if you wish.

The Kindle will also synchronise with all other devices using a Kindle reader, for example I have Kindle for iphone and Kindle for pc...if I choose to carry on reading a book on my iphone the next time I go to read it on my Kindle it will tell me that I reached page such and such on another device would I like to be taken to that page...

They are great things just be very careful with the screen as any pressure will wreck it as I found out, though I did get a free replacement.

You mention that it will take you to the page you were reading........it is a pity that there aren´t page numbers rather than percentage of what you have read.

That's the only thing I miss, after reading the whole of the Twilight series I saw the books and couldn't believe I'd read something so big so quickly! I do get a sense of achievement if I know I've read over 3000 pages...though I believe page numbers are being added to lots of books for Kindle?

It's all to do with copyright laws, and I would not order till you get it as you set up a specific kindle account with amazon, then you can order them to be sent to your kindle account, also, assuming you have WiFi you will get an account set up on the kindle, so the books are sent straight there.

You need to register your kindle to the UK account really, not the .com site. Otherwise you won't be able easily to order books only available in the UK.

You can change this on your kindle account ... it won't change by just changing your address

Tolly, kindle format is MOBI
