Re: ILLEGAL BRITISH IPTV STREAMS SHUT DOWN

On Saturday I went to a wedding

At the reception I was sat next to a young lady who had spent 12 years at Sky working her way to a fairly senior position.

Sky in Spain came up in the conversation.

But I'm not telling you what she said :D

Re: ILLEGAL BRITISH IPTV STREAMS SHUT DOWN

This and other sites are full of " so called " reliable alternatives to the expected loss of the main UK channels.
This is not helped by advertisements on internet forums and expat publications such as one I came across in a local free monthly mag ( may 2013 ).
It is full of misleading and inacurate information.
Firstly it suggest the loss of UK TV from June/July ( the sat is not even launched ).
Then Freesat and Sky will be changing to the new UK Spot beam which will not be able to be received in " the majority of Europe including Spain and Portugal via a SAT Dish ( Total b****** ) yes the southern and western fringes will lose but all of Portugal and SPain ???. None of us know if SKY will be swithcing to the UK spot or remain on it pan euro beam.
Of course they have a solution a Set Top Box IPTV offering Free to air IPTV service offering 27 channels ( BBC ITV etc NOT SKY ) for the very reasonable sum of only 169,Euros plus a monthly subscription of 22.95 euros.
Of course no mention of the min download speed required to watch live TV and as you would expect no mention of the potential loss of the main UK channels to unregulated re broadcasters.
Anyone fool enough to fall for these " offers " until much more is known really has only themselves to blame .

I look forward to reading the response from one of the companies offering this " public service " but somehow doubt that we will.

l.

Yes, an absolute rip-off!

The set top boxes cost well under €100 and most of the content is free!

AFAIK if it is FREE then there are no problems with re-broadcasting it.
But then, it may only be free in the UK, chargeable elsewhere

Re: ILLEGAL BRITISH IPTV STREAMS SHUT DOWN

I was recently offered a "simple" upgrade by a reputable local satellite firm that would "solve" all the inevitable loss problems of all UK TV for the paltry sum of €900.

When I asked them if they'd planned to replace every component of my system, they said they'd change the LNB and add some amplifiers - without having even seen our kit, which already has one of the best LNBs for "fringe" reception that money can buy, and we already have amplifiers.

Oh, opportunists at every turn in this time of crisis.

But I'm sure there are a few wealthy expats who buy it, and when it doesn't work much better, will happily pay more to have it all replaced.

Give it a rest please.

Some people are just enthusiastic about the products they use and to suggest that a poster gets paid for doing it is frankly, ludicrous.

FilmOn is owned by a Billionare who wants to give the World free TV ..Google it ..Its a good read..and i cant see him shutting down his Internet TV.. FilmOn.com, the firm founded by controversial billionaire Alki David, has today added hundreds of new channels to its video streaming platform as it looks to further disrupt traditional TV.

FilmOn users can now stream BBC One, ITV and Channel 4 for free on the site, along with around 200 other live channels.

Film on is owned by a Billionaire, who gets part of his huge fortune from the gullible who sign up for his services and will be the only loosers when the internet re broadcsating industry is finally regulated.

As per my post about EXPAT TV there are some with few scruples who are out to take your money.

Re: ILLEGAL BRITISH IPTV STREAMS SHUT DOWN

" Free to air " on the popular channels will exist only for as long as there is a mass market alternative ( Freesat ) as soon as tens of thousands of viewers lose their reception and demand icrreases these FTA sites will start to charge.
Its called simple capitalism, there are in business to make money not provide a service.
Some have adverts which would be illegal in the UK unders the trades description act and offer services over which they have no control.
Those who keep promoting such sites could be accused of misleading the public even if they have the best intentions.
