Homes from Hell ITV re Camposol

You've obviously just moved there then?? Your posting below 3 weeks ago
After much searching we have bought a single story house (good for the dodgy knees) in a very small hamlet, it's in the campo but on a bus route and just a few kilometers from the nearest town.
It's a peaceful location but still only an hour from the coast should we wish to go there, when we can no longer drive we can get the bus into town and the train to Malaga.
Still waiting for an answer re Google Earth, and I never said I was clever, just suggested that you must be cleverer than I (or is it me - been along time since GCE O Level)

What part of a few kilometers from the nearest town do you not understand? In England I used to say I lived near Manchester but I was in fact 30+ miles away!
Only a complete fool would give out their exact location on the Internet, it would give every nutter with a computer directions to your house.
As for Google, I could give you lots of evidence from various sites on the web and from news reports, but why on earth should I waste my time.
You and your pals have come onto this site to be antagonistic and argumentative with all who don't agree with your view that you all live in some kind of Eldorado.
As I've said before, each to their own....yes there are some nice houses there, but I wouldn't live there,....any more than you would want to live where I do, in a hamlet of five houses in the campo and with only Spanish for neighbours who don't speak a word of English.
This discussion is quite pointless, it's getting none of us anywhere and making all us more rude with each other than we would probably usually be, we will just have to agree to disagree because I've much better things to do with my time!

Now thats what I like to see - good hearted exchange!! Hi from yet another extremely satisfied Camposol owner for the past 6 years. Although resident in the U.K. we visit as often as we possibly can and always look forward to it - as indeed our 17 year old grandaughter does who usually accompanies us - we love it - 'nuff said!! We have terrific neighbours one of whom waters our plants for us and I have to say that we have absolutely no regrets over our purchase. Lets keep this discussion factual and not based on either surmise, hearsay or notorious headline grabbing T.V. programs - one thing is for sure, there are not homes slipping into the sea along all of the U.K's coast are there!!!
Lets keep this discussion light and FACTUAL - makes sense!
Hope you all have a nice day tomorrow - Jim.

I don't know why they call it that ,but do not care what it is called. It is a great boost to the people on here who do not learn to drive and are now without means of transport including ill health and bereavement.
It gives a lot of pleasure to the tourists and family visitors to Camposol, the euros they spend are very welcome!!

Some of the houses pictured do indeed look quite nice - I'm afraid I just have a "thing" about purpose built developments springing up especially in the middle of the countryside, and the bigger they are, the more I dislike them. Just a personal view, I know. I felt exactly the same way about new towns and housing estates in the UK, and I would never choose to go on holiday to a purpose built resort.
The house I bought in Spain is a 169sqm town house, old but reformed, with a patio and roof terrace with panoramic views over the town with it's historic buildings (and also some new flats, it has to be said!) to the mountains beyond. I don't drive so wanted to be in a big town with all facilities within walking distance and a good public transport service. The only thing I don't like is that now nearly every house that is sold is bought as a holiday home which is making our "village within a town" less of a community, IMO. I know the same thing happens in England with some villages becoming dominated by second homes. Sad.

there is one near us called Gata Residencial - the houses themselves are lovely - they look good & are spacious inside (although it has to be said that although they are newish they suffer dreadfully from damp)- & in several styles
from a distance they all look just like rows & rows of boxes

I couldn't live in an urbanisation like that but I couldn't live in the middle of a spanish pueblo either. Walking distance would do.
I have seen quite a few developments in Spain that look like coronation st.

when we first came we wanted the villa with private pool in the hills - so we rented one
we quickly realised that for us it was a nightmare
since then we have lived on various little urbs with shared facilities in the town & port - & we like it on the whole - it suits our needs
our ideal would still be a villa with private pool - but in the port.............unfortunately here, that simply doesn't exist

Hi
I came back from camposol 2 days ago after viewing a few properties. I decided to put a deposit down on one. i came across this site yesterday and thought OMG what have a done!!!!
Any way after doing more research and reading all of the posts i have had time to reflect on my offer i made.
I have decided to proceed. The area is great the houses are built to a hi standard from what i can see. i did see one or two that seem to have cracks and left them alone.
The property will be used an a holiday home to start but intend to visit every month throughout the year. i can also work from the property as my business in internet based. Also will be taking my car and motorbike out and leave them at the property. Intend to tour spain and africa on it over the next few years. Can fly to murcia for £36 return!!
All depends on what you are looking for its nice and peaceful. If i want hussel and bussel and lots of traffic i only need to drive for 10 minutes to find it. The port area was really busy 90% spanish holiday makers
If i had come across this site before i left to view i think i might have left it alone but have seen the properties and spent 3 days looking around the whole area i am more than happy to proceed. It was great reading all the post on here positive and negative.

anyway, if you are happy then thats all that matters.
suggest you spend time trawling this site for information about bringing vehicles out from UK and registering them as Spanish - that can be a minefield almost as large as housing

Welcome to Camposol Jasper You won't regret it...we haven't.
I would say about 20% have had problems on Camposol, but as we are a large urb that is quite a small number. Folk always seem to highlight the worst/negative side of things-NEVER the good points.......as suggested above. I suggest folk go and look for themselves...
Camposol is improving everyday, planting, trees, improvements all around , beautiful villas. It really is delightful and we are so close to the port and its delightful new Marina and numerous restaurants and shops....personally, I love to get back to the peace and quiet of our villa, after visiting the port, sit on our terrace and just absorb those wonderful rural & mountains views.
There are some real 'spiteful' people on here...you need to take a chill-pill...life is what you make it, we Camposolers are happy happy happy.....take a leaf from our book and enjoy what you have, stop being negative to people and places you really know nothing about....
