Spain tried to lean on Gibraltar bunker operator
The Spanish Government last year targeted Gibraltar’s bunkering sector and threatened sanctions against a locally-based company operating in British waters, it was revealed yesterday.
The move last summer drew a protest from the British Government, which told Spain it had no jurisdiction in Gibraltar waters.

It's Gibraltars equivalent of having a neighbour from hell. Blocking the drive, complaining about the garden, sending the kids to throw stones etc.

They carry on like this so they have an excuse to continue acting the bully. But the rest of the world (less a few odd posters here
) can see through it.They should put up or shut up. The waters were never theirs, what on earth claim do they imagine they've got on them now?

This discussion will still be going on in 2114. they were theirs prior to the war of the spanish succession and were almost given back on at least two occasions.
Who knows what the future holds, a UK with a even smaller defence force and no need for Gib. a uk government that removes any and all tax advantages for off shore companies registered and based there.

The Chief Minister referred to the importance of Gibraltar as a allied stronghold during WWII, and the Launchpad for Operation Torch during which General Eisenhower conducted his military campaign. In more modern times, he said, Gibraltar has been used as a base for US military operations in Lybia and Operation Desert Storm. He said the Rock was more important than ever now, with the emergence of terrorist groups operating from North Africa.
