I see that, contrary to what those in Spain (and some of the BE community) think that the UK doesn't give a monkeys about Gib, Government Buildings (including the FCO) in London will fly the Gibralter flag on Gibralter day.

Well we are ready for Gibraltar Day tomorrow and the 300th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Utrecht.
To stop those pesky Spanish from trying to disrupt the celebrations all we have to do is pull up the drawbridge

Cameron in National Day special message
David Cameron today praised the "enormous dignity" shown by Gibraltar in response to months of pressure from Spain and said the Rock's relationship with Britain was "solid, sure and enduring"
"Gibraltar has been British for 300 years. Let's keep it that way."Mr Cameron
He called on Spain to end its aggressive tactics and sit down and talk.
"I have called upon Spain to work with your government and ours to find solutions to the difficulties of recent months."
"I did meet the Spanish prime minister to try and look at issues where we can try and de-escalate the war of words that has taken place," he said on Monday.
"We haven't made any progress. We should continue not only to defend absolutely to the hilt Gibraltar's right to decide its own future but also we want to see good and strong relations in the region as well."

At least the article says that Gib meets all EU laws on taxation and "fiscal transparency" and for that reason the inspectors from the EU won't be checking on "fiscal advantages" of Gib.
Margallo propuso que Ceuta y Melilla fueran “paraÃsos fiscales†como Gibraltar.

Interesting piece from the Mayor of La Linea who seems a very sensible and pragmatic person to me.
From the Gibraltar Chronicle
From the Gibraltar Chronicle
Sra Araujo has good relations with Gibraltar – she is in regular contact with Chief Minister Fabian Picardo – and sees the Rock as an opportunity that can generate wealth for her city and its inhabitants, thousands of whom work here daily.
She also accepts that the government in Madrid has the right to clamp down on tobacco smuggling and alleged tax evasion, or complain to the EU about an artificial reef if it believes that international rules have been breached.
But she is deeply unconvinced that the stringent border checks and subsequent queues serve any purpose to that end.
“Someone has yet to explain to me what exactly we gain with these controls at the border,†she said.
