if I were in charge I would have returned Gibraltar to Spain a long time ago. It made sense when London controlled India and wanted bases on route to that source of wealth. It makes no sense in 2021.
I am (and 33000 locals in Gib) so glad you are not in charge.
You have no problem ignoring wishes of local population and rather be dictator in nappies.

Information coming from the frontier indicates that Spain once again is not honouring it's agreements and they are not accepting Gibraltar ID cards but demanding passports.
That could be fun come Monday so long as they treat their own citizens likewise as most Spaniards do not have passports.

The first ferry from Algeciras carrying meat and dairy products from the United Kingdom to Gibraltar arrived in the port on Friday morning. This is in line with the Government’s contingency plans for supplies to the Rock post Brexit.
From January 1, the UK and Gibraltar are both third countries now in relation to the EU.
This means that goods of animal origin such as beef and milk in overland transit from the UK to Gibraltar have to enter the EU through a Border Control Post (BCP), generally in France, and then exit through the nearest BCP in Algeciras. They then transit in a ferry across the Bay to Gibraltar to the Rock.

It used to in the old closed frontier days, but since then it has come overland through the frontier and will still do so excepting animal products
Morrison’s had a fleet of 18 lorries which a few years ago was at £4 million a year supplying their one store here.I do not know the latest costs.
Other supermarkets have their own arrangements.
Long term the whole logistics operations may change.
Morocco was a source of food and other goods including labour in the closed frontier days and will probably become more important in the future.

No longer will the expats up the coast be able to shop here for their bacon and cheese etc.

Why not if it has been correctly imported into the Schengen area? I know you won’t be able to bring food in by air in personal baggage.

Surely Morrissons will be the same as Iceland up the coast.

Today it has been announced that Gibraltar should receive it's first batch of the Pfizer vaccine tomorrow transported here by the RAF

Military flights from any country to Gibraltar a NATO base are not allowed to overfly Spain a NATO member.
Therefore the flight will have to go out into the Atlantic and fly down Portugal and approach Gibraltar staying out over the sea at all times.

This is normal procedure for military flights between the UK and Gibraltar.

I have just registered for a vaccination on the Gibraltar Health Authority website.
