Re: Gibraltar 2
On the 31st March the long awaited airport tunnel will open after 14 years in construction.
It is roughly 600 mtrs long, ditch and cover, not a true tunnel
The channel tunnel just over 50kms long took 6 years to construct.

Hopefully completed at a good price... Jokes aside good to see it's finally ready.
I wonder how long the tunnel to Morocco will take, if it ever happens.

I'm surprised they didn't use that space to build tunnel apartments, maybe health & safety stopped that idea.

H.M.S Rook for starters
The overbuilding is one of my few gripes against Gibraltar. I have recently been showing some of the photos I took in the GOOD OLD CLOSED FRONTIER DAYS to some newcommers
They generally find it hard to recognise the locations
For example Marina Court built in 1969 photographed in 1976 is now in the middle of the second photo taken 2023
The brick building to the right of Marina Court is Portland House middle right second photo

Re: Gibraltar 2
There are reports that differences on military and defence matters between the United Kingdom and Spain are threatening to sink Gibraltar’s treaty negotiations.
The Spanish press has provided what reads like a very detailed account of the ongoing discussions and also of a separate but parallel dialogue on defence matters.

Re: Gibraltar 2
I'm afraid that looks more like the apartment blocks that were built in East Germany (1970s), not something I would have imagined for Gibraltar in 2023.

Re: Gibraltar 2
they look more like shipping containers to me, rather than the large panel systems which look more substantial in my mind
