I am so mad about all the dog poo around here, really hacking me off. The pile in the street opposite my door had been stood on by someone who then walked past my door URGH When we tried to walk along the road by the river with toddler we could hardly avoid the piles with pushchair never mind letting her out.

Dog owners who do not lift their dogs mess are disgusting people with no consideration for others. Let your yard fill up with your own dog mess, Do not inlfict your dog shit on others.

This person takes the biscuit. They have just stood and let their dog poo again. As I know the dogs name I will ask around about the owners, then return their dogs property to them. It has fouled outside my neighbours doors, they have a little un and another on the way. I wish there was a way to make owners like them have to do a whole days disgusting dog poo clean up !!!!

Its nearly a month since this info was posted and I hope I don't speak too soon. However I think I can report a marked improvement in the dog fouling situation around here and on our walk into Ayamonte.

I was regularly finding deposits near our property. Caught a German bimbo with her pooch and have had no trouble since I told her (in my best german) that I would come and shit on her doorstep.

Perhaps Lord Mayor can do something about this, he seems to have friends in high places?

The townhall has decided to give a 750€ fine to all the people who do not collect their dog's poos. It seems to work, as we see a lot less dogs on their own in the street. The fact i know many people here does not mean that i have to call them for anything! When i see someone leaving a poo in the street i just tell this person that she forgot something and offer her a poobag in case she left hers at home.... Believe me, it works!

How does it work ? how do they find the people who allow their dogs to do this ?

The man who allows his dog to foul in the street where I liv, lives just round the corner ! NOT very neighbourly at all. He is old enough to be able understand the law and to understand when asked not to allow his dog to foul outside our houses. Yet he stands at the corner and lets his off the lead (which has been known to attack other dogs) to foul but of course NOT on his street. Sorry but that is just disgusting behaviour and I would love for him to be fined 750 euros for every pile he has NO intention of cleaning up.

Dog owners who neglect to pick up after their pooches in the Spanish town of Brunete have been receiving an unpleasant surprise in the post after the council took to mailing the mess back to them.


The town council posted dog faeces after recruiting 20 volunteers to take patrol the streets as part of the imaginative scheme.

After witnessing an owner failing to dispose of the dog mess the volunteers would engage them in conversation to establish the dog's name and its pedigree.

They were then able to find the address of the owner from a registered pet database in the town hall.

Officials came up with the novel idea after the a small town of 10,100 inhabitants on the outskirts of Madrid was continually blighted by dog mess.

We contacted top advertising agency McCann about the doggy matter," a spokesperson told The Local.

"We told them we didn't have a penny to spend, but they found the idea so novel and exciting that they decided to work with us anyway."

"The amount of dog poo on our streets dropped considerably as a result. But as soon as the volume started rising again we knew we had to try an even more direct approach."

The council believes that the amount of dog mess seen on the streets has fallen by approximately 70 percent as a consequence of the strategy.

They have a great little sign on the lamp posts. I hope Ayamonte can get something similar going.

Updating this, the same man and same dog are still offending and fouling the street. I know the name of the man and the dog. Last year I went to their door about the dog and he laughed at me then his wife followed me down the street giving me GBH of the ears ! There also a few more now not picking up their dog mess.

I thought the street cleaner would lift it but he does not, mind you sits under the tree at the top, has his break then leaves without lifting the rubbish under the tree left by the youngsters ? !

Twice yesterday the dog tried to attack my dog. The first time a neighbour of mine and the dog owners, alerted me to it racing up behind us. I scooped my dog up sharpish. The man called its name quietly, it ignored him and then craped in the street ! Last night when returning from walk I came over the hill and there it was, it spotted us and raced down the street to us. Again I scooped my dog up and continued to growl and try to circle me. I shouted at it and kept blocking its way, making it go back to its owner who was standing at the corner lamp post laughing.

That's awful. Have you thought about making a denuncia.
