Just so you know Ayamonte Town Hall have just announced an edict whereby any dog owner whose dog fouls on a public street, garden, park or walk and the owner doesn't correctly dispose of the litter. Then they will be liable for a fine up to €750.

Thats great news Michael. Do you think it can be enforced? There are so many loose dogs on the streets and people just drive their dog to the park near us sit in the car and let it go with the sole intention of it fouling. I hope the Town Hall advertise this legislation and collect some much needed cash for the towns coffers.

I think the Town Hall have been concious of this issue for some time and I was told that bags could be obtained at the Town Hall. We didn't have a dog at the time and didn't pay that much attention. Do you know if this is the case?
The bags can be bought at the supermarket but are very expensive and exceptionaly large!! We use baby nappy bags but can't find them on the supermarket shelves here in Ayamonte. We bought 12 months supply of Tesco Value back from the UK.
So anyone seen Nappy Bags?

I am not aware of a management compnay for the houses but will enquire, thank you.
I have considered taking a photograph, the dog and person who is 'with' it are never close enough to get together nor do they come down in the daylight ! I am getting a bit fed up of it, I don't want to keep washing off dog pee from my door nor having it and poo outside my door. My grandaughter arrives today and really do not want her walking/falling in it. I may well be tempted to stand and wait for him and hand him a bag to clean it up.

hose down the mess
Hosepipe ?
hose down the dog whilst doing the mess, unlikely to do it again
round here the locals keep plastic bottles of water on their step, is that so any vagrant passing can get a drink or to ward off vagrant dogs ? ?
as a note, we have a (small) dog, always clean up after him if he does it on the pavement or where children may play. We save all bags, especially the ones we get our prescriptions in - just the right size. Have thought about asking if we can buy a wodge from them.

It's good news that the Ayamonte Ayuntamiento has introduced this bye-law, but it's unlikely to achieve anything unless they institute regular patrols to enforce it. My own town's Ayuntamiento had a campaign about dog fouling earlier this year, a few people got fined but overall it has made no difference, sadly.
I'd say the only recourse the OP has is to confront the culprit and inform him that she is going to denounce him, take a photo and make sure he knows you have it, and then go ahead and make the denuncia if it happens again.

That will be good if they will enforce it.

I am sure I bought some in Supersol, does the vets not sell them ? I think I have seen them or dog poo bags in the chinese type shops. Cheap food sandwich bags are a good size also.

I have noticed most nights around 10 ish a man appears at the corner of the street and lets a dog wander down and foul in front of the houses on this street. Do you think he might like it if I wander up behind him and let my dog do her business at his door or maybe I should stand by, wait till the dog does it business then scoop it up and take it up to him ? !

Just in case the message can get through to the owner of Ollie the dog that is allowed to foul on the street where I live.
YOUR dog mess is the only mess on this street.
The next time I see it foul I will return it you and take steps to denouce you.

You might want to seek advice your local town hall?
You appear to know where the man stands and might want to place a poster there e.g.
NO DOG FOULING
A new law has been introduced where owners may be fined 750€
We shall report offenders

Meradona have dog poo bags in stock, just been in store. I could not see any nappy bags but wonder if they keep them in a different place to where we expect to find them. I looked beside food bags ( cheap clear bags avail) feminine hygiene and the baby section though.
