How about all the Carols on this forum filling up Rugbymatt's karma to the brim in order to send him sinking to the bottom of the deep blue sea?Karma on its way with a bucket,
Carol
P.S. Oh, computer says "Naooo"!

Oh you mean like in the Esuri thread, surely then all the more reason to post and equal out the equation.
This is a big family, not just a brother and sister act.
If you have been reading for 4 years then you will know the reasons for Fortaleza's tongue in cheek humorous posts

I asked on this thread, a few pages back now, if this squabbling over "them and us" - referring to "newbies" in Spain and "old-timers" in Spain (sorry jdr, not personal) offering their experience - was now water under the bridge. John&Kath replied to my question, kindly explaining how, eventhough he had checked and re-checked, the process of buying and building in Spain never seemed to be straightforward. Some people who post (maybe more who only read) on the CE thread are worried about their purchase on CE. They are not all necessarily "investors", but people who might be looking for a different way of life. One or two have posted on the Spain forum, and even been referred back to this thread, remember?
Fortaleza has posted, at least twice recently, how he and "others" have offered advice about living in Spain on this thread. Great. Appreciated. Why go on about it then? As far as the teasing goes, I agree that he did overstep the mark. I could almost kiss him if he were to apologise for being so naughty.

What good is it to say "I told you so"? Can anyone predict the future?
I appreciate your comments and advice, jdr. I have considered them in my own decision to purchase on Esuri. Remember all the discussions about Health & Safety? That was even before the cement was dry! I enjoy my place now, and I enjoy being in Spain when I can.
My apologies for boring the pants off of anyone reading this post. Perhaps it should go as a PM? Nah! Just click, and it's away!
Regards,
Carol

Can't we get back to the important topics?
Esuri is a big project, a big development. Can you tell me one "big" development that has received praise by the English. I'm trying, but I can't.
I'm thinking:
- Millenium Dome (which has ended up being voted the best music venue in the world)
- Canary Wharf (the owners went bankrupt and it's turned out OK)
- Terminal 5 (trust me this is rubbish now but will end up being fantastic)
- Wembley (whatever you think, it's a great stadium)
- The Olympics (all we ever hear is how bad it's going to be)

The 5 you mention all have something in common, I can think of 5 sucesses from day 1 which dont have that common interest

but the 'humour' really has worn a tad thin........
4 years of monotonous barbed comment.......a 'joke' is at best hilarious first time around, still amusing second time, but an ongoing lack of the variety really reveals lack of vision and thought............

jdr, you can't force someone to post on another thread if they don't wish to post. Who is to say that many haven't used the "search this forum" tool and found their answer, without having to post a new thread with a topic that has been discussed several times? The way I see it is (here we go...) that this public forum is not the same as a group discussion. It isn't lacking in emotion (tempers flaring etc.), but it has at times lacked in empathy. How easy it is to type & click a remark, walk away from the keyboard, and not care about a reply or someone else's feelings? Too easy.

And your opinions are always so valid and interesting. There's surely no-one more boring than someone who considers themselves an authority on everything. I'll put you on ignore until I need advice on the best way to rid my rosebushes of aphids or which trowel to buy.

Yes please do, oh and for the record, next time you decide to try and have a go at someone for being boring, try not to sound like you have read any of their posts......................it works much better

At the risk of being monotonous I was out on Esuri last week. Had a great time.
A question for you plot owners; (that is if I am allowed to without creating a new thread) have FADESA put a timescale on you for having the build completed once you have taken ownership?

The main criticism of participants in this thread seems to be that they don't integrate into the rest of the forum. Why should they? If they're not interested in wishing someone they don't know a 'Happy Birthday' or aren't bothered whether there are available Spanish girls in Nerja, why go anywhere else.

I think you do the Spanish forum a disservice by dismissing it like that. Within the threads there is a mine of information and people regularly post how thankful they were to find it. The Siesta forum was set up as an area to chat about things and serves its purpose

When the new thread started we made an effort to make people aware here that there was life after the CE thread and thats all we wanted to do and I'm pleased that more people now cross over.
Theres no need for this "us and them" theory, just something I think thats got blown out of all proportion.
Just enjoy posting ....... wherever you post

But here's the rub. At the moment the two most viewed threads on the Spain forum are this one and one from a guy seeking advice on moving to Nerja. OK, the OP has asked the same question several times on various threads and his reasons for wanting to relocate to Nerja are lets say dubious. But in the course of 9 posts the thread gets hijacked by the usual suspects and degenerates into name calling or some other less than constructive inanity which so often seems to be the case.
Rugbymatt has just had a pop at me for doing exactly what you are trying to encourage - read posts on other threads, which I do. Now I understand that maybe his mind can't get round the fact that it would be impossible for me to reach the opinion that he is a bore without reading his posts, and I think it is possibly him and maybe a few of the others that put people like myself off posting elsewhere.

Can't we get back to the important topics?
FA Cup final in the club house anyone ;-)?
Listen, the world is a better place with different opinions. If we were having a breakfast coffee and talking about all of this stuff none of us would get offended.
The net removes emotion.

Oh bloody hell even the Sydney Opera house was slated by the Aussies when it was planned and built. Would they knock it down now?
My opionion (for what it's worth) is that if you've bought on Esuri to turn a profit quickly then unlucky.
If you've bought for long term investment or lifestyle then well done. It is a great location now, but it will develop further and get better but it will take time.
As for the tit for tat arguments. I can't be arsed.
I will buy anyone their first *beer in the club house before the cup final, any takers? That's what this should be about - social networking and community building.
* halves only, local beers, or cider that I bring myself in a plastic bottle.

Hi James
I am in the club going through the forum, and after some 'emotional posts' I laughed out loud about

Congratulations on your completion, I'm only sorry that I wont be sharing a beer with you on FA cup day.... I'd like to do that with you.
Maybe next time....
Cheers

But lets get away from criticising peoples posting styles and get back to discussion with respect for each others point of view, at the end of the day its down to the mods to keep a happy balance between banter and information. Sometimes its right, sometimes its wrong, we're not perfect and dont forget we cant be here all the time.
