Whether you agree with or not is irrelevant. I don't agree with French people scoffing snails all day long but who am I to tell tham that is wrong??? What you also forget that with a paper that currently has a circulation of 14,000 (8,000 in Huelva, 6000 in Cadiz and rising), I cannot focus all the paper's attention on a handful of houses in one development. I have - as posted on here for your perusal - carried legitimate stories about the case. Tittle tattle and gripes from owners belong on a blog or forum, which thankfully, this site does very well.

Yes it is a business but there is a very clear understanding between me and the owner that responsible editorial takes precedence over advertising and if we have to lose an advertiser in order to expose wrongdoing I have the complete 100% backing of the board.

Thank you John and Kath for stating (the bleedin') obvious to those who clearly missed it. It's amazing that when you put out the bait how many get reeled in.

BTW really not much to report from the session, BUT today it seems that an eternal enemy of the last Mayor (ahem...less said the better!!!) is now asking for him to be consulted on various issues. You gotta love this town!!!!
We must all seek our pleasure in what ever way suits. Some may seek pleasure in setting hares running or lobbing the od granade in and running for cover (or laying bait).

Many of us are new to property in Spain. Fadesa are dreadful to deal with. Many of us are on a very difficult learning curve....this is made more difficult by the lack of reliable info from Fadesa, your bait only fuels the concerns that we have about CE. If that was your intention then I must congratulate you...well done.

Obviously those on Rago 1 consider their problems with Fadesa to be serious....yes in the scope of things small time.....but lets not loose sight as good a paper as you may have it is also small time (dont get me wrong I look forward to reading it). I have not seen any articles on the problems on CE...i may have missed the issue.

I did however call the oracle last year mid summer to see if they would do an article on the problems on Rago 1 and the action group....the answer was no due to legal reasons.

You are right to say that we are small time - but in our defence I would like to say that a paper that is distributed in two editions between Faro and Gibraltar isn't exactly irrelevant either. But I digress.

I know of a 'press release' for want of a better word that was sent before I took the reigns and I have seen it. I assume this is what you are alluding to. It was, in the form presented, totally unpublishable (if that word exists!!! apologies if it doesn't). It was totally subjected with no back up and worse still it was presented anonimously. There was no way it was ever going to get printed. If you want submit a letter for the letters page, by all means do so.

Re Fadesa articles - the last ones are here. I'm sure I posted this before and you replied to it, but can't be arsed to go searching thorugh this mammoth, disorganised thread which would be better served in sub categories. But again I digress

I agree, and in any development of this size there will be an interesting mix of people from many styles and backgrounds. If there were not wouldn't it be a liitle boring like the "Stepford Wives". I'm sure in the long term CE will transform into a pleasant place to live and as with all developments in the world it will have some problem people. Where else is it different?

Thanks for that.

As regards contact that was made with the paper..it was telephone call asking if they would wish to attend a meeting of concerned residents.

Re the press release...did you follow it up?

I note 2 editions....I did not know this. The one in Ayamonte seems very local to that area so far as the advertising is concerned.

Be sure I was not trying to belittle the Oracle...after all that bloke who owns Sky started off small time.....your not getting into TV are you?

No i did not receive the email/article you suggest.

I don't see how calling CE a council estate insults you or anyone for that matter.
Thank you for the welcome. However you haven't answered my question. What is it that you so dislike about the Costa Esuri Urbanisation? I really would like to know.

I'm afraid you also either didn't bother reading or failed to fully absorb the contents of my first post. I am not new to this or the previous threads and in fact have been an avid and interested reader for over 4 years, I just haven't contributed before. Please enlighten me on the history that I've missed.

Although I have neither the time nor inclination to backtrack through all your previous posts, from the ones I remember I'm afraid I find it hard to concede that you have ever offered much in the way of tangible help to posters on this thread, correct me if I'm wrong. As for help from others, JDR is always fair, honest, offers valid advice and is interesting to read. Other than that we occasionally have the gospel according to the egocentric Rugbymatt and his fawning sidekicks.

The main criticism of participants in this thread seems to be that they don't integrate into the rest of the forum. Why should they? If they're not interested in wishing someone they don't know a 'Happy Birthday' or aren't bothered whether there are available Spanish girls in Nerja, why go anywhere else.

As for calling CE a council estate. Of course it was meant in a derogatory way. Please don't insult my intelligence by making out it could be anything but.

There are a lot more threads than "Happy Birthday" threads on this Spain forum!!

"Insurance"......."Exchange Rates" and too many more to mention. This Esuri thread is like a little safe cocoon to most of you. Its like you want to keep all your info to yourselves and not put your experiences into other threads to help the posters on there!!!!

I shall not post in your little cocoon again, but your words annoyed me so I had to reply!!

If you are relatively new to his thread and you happen to catch one of Fortaleza's messages it can be quite shocking that your 'baby' is being attacked. I was certainly guilty and attacked back. However I now realise that it's mostly tongue in cheek and actually some of it is quite humourous.
Unbelievably I reacted to one of the posts and set myself up for spelling a word wrong. It was like a double bogey at the first hole!!

The last thread was shut down because of the bickering. Let everyone calm down and get back to some useful messages. After initially seething at some of the past posts I do look at many of them now with a smile.

Boys will be boys. Esuri as a council estate - I think not!

I'm sorry I offended you, but you miss the point. I do read the other threads and appreciate the very useful information I glean from them. I just don't choose to post as most of the time they develop into the type of cliquey conversations that I had no interest in at school and have even less interest in now.

Can't we get back to the important topics?

FA Cup final in the club house anyone ;-)?

Listen, the world is a better place with different opinions. If we were having a breakfast coffee and talking about all of this stuff none of us would get offended.

The net removes emotion.

Esuri is a big project, a big development. Can you tell me one "big" development that has received praise by the English. I'm trying, but I can't.

I'm thinking:
- Millenium Dome (which has ended up being voted the best music venue in the world)
- Canary Wharf (the owners went bankrupt and it's turned out OK)
- Terminal 5 (trust me this is rubbish now but will end up being fantastic)
- Wembley (whatever you think, it's a great stadium)
- The Olympics (all we ever hear is how bad it's going to be)

Oh bloody hell even the Sydney Opera house was slated by the Aussies when it was planned and built. Would they knock it down now?

My opionion (for what it's worth) is that if you've bought on Esuri to turn a profit quickly then unlucky.

If you've bought for long term investment or lifestyle then well done. It is a great location now, but it will develop further and get better but it will take time.

As for the tit for tat arguments. I can't be arsed.

I will buy anyone their first *beer in the club house before the cup final, any takers? That's what this should be about - social networking and community building.

* halves only, local beers, or cider that I bring myself in a plastic bottle.

Hi Jamesf,

Every post I've read of yours is upbeat. I'm right up for that and a game of golf!

Oh you mean like in the Esuri thread, surely then all the more reason to post and equal out the equation.
This is a big family, not just a brother and sister act.
If you have been reading for 4 years then you will know the reasons for Fortaleza's tongue in cheek humorous posts
