It has been announced that an application for a trading licence has been received at the Town Hall for a tattoo parlour and body piercing studio on Costa Esuri. It intends trading next to the Guardiana Market the small convenience store already in existance. It needs 10% of the residents to vote against it for the application to fail. Objections can only be submitted individually by hand at the Town Hall to be recognised. No emails, petitions or post will be accepted. We have from today until the 8th to present objections if you feel that inclined. Perhaps this will bring new interest to the area as a unique selling point. One of the public posters is attached.

Can anybody else confirm this?

This is outrageous first they don't finish the hotel and commercial centre and then the only shop thats open gets this next to it. There must be a huge profit in tattoos ifthey can afford the rent and 8% of profits.

Just as a matter of interest John, what dealings have you had with ADA?

Now that the tolls have opened on the bridge, I dont see many Portugese coming over to tatoo, so perhaps it will not work out. Still, no real objections to a tatoo parlour... Welcome to Jamaica have a nice day!

I thought Confort was a subsiduary of Fadesa set up to do maintenance.
I am sure tht the EU rules require that this kind of contract s put out to open tender and the cheapest tenderer shold be seleced.

Regarding the mossies we are going to try the PestXit Duo which sends an ultrasonic signal though all the appartment electrical wiring and is supposed to send wave vibrations (undetectable by humans) through the wall directly to where the pests and larvae nest. They cost about £50 and cover a build area of up to 5000 sq. ft. so one should be enough. You can find the suppliers by searching pestxit on google. http://www.pestxit.com/mozzie.html

Hi Andy

We found some plug in mossie repellers in Leroy Merlin. They are not the sort you put a tablet in but rather emit a high pitched hum, which you do not really notice and also have a faint red glow. We always keep one plugged in beside the bed to try and deter the little blighters! Can't remember how much they were but only a few euros each.

Good luck!

Pat
